Although I use the ozone 9 digital compressor quite a lot (in single and multiband mode - I think is one of the great compressors ever made), these manufacturers should stop relating their masking/spectrum rebalancing stuff to pink noise slope. Our commercial genres (pop, rock, electronic dance music) are slightly differently shaped and the automatic tonal balance in this cases is always sterile, characterless and slightly boxy. I have yet to discover a dev that nailed this right.

You put great mixes through these tools and they always find a huge load of "flaws" and the correct result is a bland and boring mix. As a beginner, stay very away of these tools, chances are they will destroy your sound rather than improving it (especially if you can't tell the difference when A/B-ing with eyes closed)

I've never used iZotope Tonal Balance Control, but isn't it using the mixes you've trained it with as references, not pink/white noise?

Not being unappreciative by any means, can someone explain why the MAC version is 1.51GB and this is only 161MB?
I am only asking because the math does not add up.

I am surprised to see that there's only one version of the software this time around. No elements, no advanced, no pro version that is only available with subscription model and has features that even advanced doesn't, or any other dumb confusing nonsense. I hope they embrace this change moving forward and do the same thing with Ozone 10 when it comes out.

Call me crazy, but I still think version 2 is the best. Starting from Neutron 3 CPU usage is really heavy.

Can you elaborate on that. - I have also the feeling staying on older versions to have a better sound (experience) is the better choice. It happened to me quiet a lot. - But it requires a lot of testing. - Is there a website that compares the versions of VSTs?

Can't say much about the sound, but as far as CPU usage and user experience - I still prefer Izotope Nectar 1 over any newer version. Same for Ozone. Had the best experience with version 5.
There are some 'improvements' with new versions for sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's always better.

I want to add a detail .

if you use "match tone" and then try to remove the vst, the Daw freezes. I already tried it three times.

Studio one 5.5.1 Win 10.
