Extreme Time-Stretching
This application/plugin is based on the PaulStretch algorithm (Paul’s Extreme Time Stretch, originally developed by Nasca Octavian Paul), and specifically the PaulXStretch version from Xenakios. The UI has been updated, adapted for various screen sizes, and built for the latest platforms.


Linux has no prebuilds, but you can get the source code with git.

Paul stretch has always been the most impressive stretch I've ever tried.
You would imagine that Akai/Numark or anybody else, have all the resources and coding professionals to make the greatest stretch algorithm possible, but the MPC time stretch is junk compared to Paul stretch. Paul stretch has always been just clean and works.

Whatever he did seems to be singular.

thanks. interesting. never heard of or tried this one. seems like a semi quick atmos pad/drone/verb maker...

..but that guy in the video is annoying af. distrokid (owned by spotify) is the worst distribution company in the world today. anyone who recommends it should never be trusted ;)

I am happy to announce that the maintenance and development of PaulXStretch has been transferred over to Sonosaurus.

Version 1.5.2 is already available on the Sonosaurus website for various platforms and formats.

Agree. He did so much for the Reaper community as well! Mainly his contributions to the SWS Extension, but he has certainly had several fingers in many of the advanced features we love Reaper for.

I hope he is doing well and is of good health, whatever he is doing nowadays!

On macOS Monterey it doesn't respect Energy settings, which in my case is set to turn the Display Off when inactive for 15 minutes.

This is great! Have used it years ago but it was always buggy and lagging .but now it's a whole different story..works so good and responsive.. this will definitely stay as a main stretching software in my arsenal..thanks articstorm for posting it here!
