GForce Software Oberheim OB-E v2.0 WiN/MAC [MORiA] screenshot
MORiA | February, 23 | AUi | VST3i | STANDALONE | VSTi | AAX* | 175.88 MB
THE OB-E – AN OBERHEIM OCTAPHONIC SONIC ADVENTURE The Oberheim OB-E is our take on the legendary Oberheim® 8-Voice and the first software instrument ever to receive Tom Oberheim’s personal endorsement. More than just an emulation, the OB-E offers a unique musical experience. Sounding HUGE, it takes the iconic Synthesizer Expander Module (SEM®) based 8-Voice (a.k.a the EVS) into new sonic territory via a raft of enhancements and additions.
The concept of the 8-Voice is actually very simple; based around a single SEM containing two VCOs with Pulse and Sawtooth waveforms, two ADS Envelope Generators, one LFO, and a magical Multi-Mode Filter. In isolation each SEM is monophonic, but in the 8-Voice, because there are eight SEMs triggered by a polyphonic keyboard, you have a superb eight note polyphonic synthesizer.
This unique Octaphonic architecture offers fresh and exciting creative possibilities to music producers, composers and sound designers for the first time in the digital realm.

AN AUGMENTED YET AUTHENTIC INSTRUMENT
We’ve painstakingly emulated every section of the synth to ensure sonic authenticity while adding the convenience of software control over those eight SEMs. Mono, Mono Legato, Poly, Unison and Split keyboard modes are all available. Add to this the new VCO3, doubling as an audio rate LFO for each SEM, and a stack of additional performance controls via velocity, polyphonic after-touch and MPE control then you’ll begin to understand the depth of musical possibilities OB-E provides.

PATCH SELECTION
700+ FACTORY PATCHES SAVED IN VARIOUS CATEGORIES AND WITH TAGS.

A COLLABORATION WITH OBERHEIM AND NEW ‘VINTAGE’ CONTROL
As we neared the release of OB-E®, we were contacted by Tom Oberheim and Marcus Ryle (an Oberheim engineer in the 1980s) who were impressed enough to suggest a collaboration offering support to refine OB-E and to release the v2 update carrying their full endorsement. Despite receiving several Best Soft Synth 2021 awards, working under the guidance of Tom and Marcus, we further enhanced the already incredible sounding OB-E. Refining the Detune feature and adding a new Vintage control, dials in more realistic musical inaccuracies in line with the original instrument for a truly authentic 8-Voice experience.

NEW IN OB-E V2 (NOW MACOS & WINDOWS)
The enhanced OB-E V2 is a pin sharp emulation of the Oberheim® 8-Voice thanks to the new Vintage control and a highly refined Detune parameter. In addition, it’s now available for both macOS and Windows.
OB-E V2 features a new reverb, 100+ new Patches (bringing the total to over 700), a new Zoom function for the sequencer along with a crazy new Drum Mode enabling each SEM to be triggered by a dedicated key. We’ve also added 10 drum kit Presets to get you started. If you are looking for a new analog drum machine, give it a go, it might surprise you.

Yah, no kidding.. I was definitely on the site within the last few days or so and saw a thing that said "Sorry, currently Mac only" (or something to that effect). They must've just updated it recently. Great!!! Thank you, MORiA

Yup I just received the ad today via email. The last bit of it says "Oh, and it's on Windows." Lol they like playing with us.
I was drunk when I wrote this

I bet they've always had a windows version but refused to release it to screw with us intentionally

Sheesh! Is it just me or is anyone else intimidated by synths with that many knobs on the UI? Might just have to stick to presets and minimal tweaking and be a basic chad. (Of course, using professional Unison MIDI chord packs to make some fire )
OK. Hmm. Zzz

The thing with this machine is that each of the 8 panels is an individual voice. So, once you learn one (and the parameters are quite simple, in terms of synthesis, you'll understand the others. Each of the 8 module panels can be a separate sound or copies or variations of the same sound. I don't know if that helps, but I found it clarifying when I first encountered a real Oberheim SEM.

This isn't the SEM, that was their first model.
This is the 8 Voice.
Unless you just mean a single SEM of the 8.
The Clavichord is from the Late Middle Ages. It's not a Clavinet.

Yes, that's what I meant. I first encountered a single SEM in a studio and realized at that point that the 4 or 8 voice was actually a row of the same independent modules.

It's actually an incredibly basic synth. But its filter and rich oscillators allow for warm sounds, and the way each voice can interact and differentiate with subtle imperfections is the real value.

Tips:
- Click "POLY" to init a POLY preset.
- Click "GROUP" to link all parameters.
- Click "ZOOM" on one SEM to only focus on one SEM.
- The "VINTAGE" knob will apply variations to each voice envelope, filter (similar to Obsession's organc knob) But not pitch.
- The "DETUNE" knob will apply pitch variations to each voice separately.

Use "OFFSET" mode instead of "GROUP" mode to alter all parameters but keep their relative differences. Useful when you start to make changes to individual SEMs and want to do a global filter sweep.

There's no info file in the ISO. Going to guess the procedure on Windows is:

1. Run OB-Ev2-0-Windows-Installer.exe
2. Run OB-E.exe
3. Copy patched plugin to plugin folder

Someone tell me if that's wrong, lol.

Here is what I did:

1. Use UniExtract to extract the Installer.
2. Copy GForce folder to Program Files (only need Presets and Manual)
3. Copy cracked OB-E.dll from MORiA folder (I only want 64-bit VST2) to my VST folder
4. Type anything (or nothing) and hit REGISTER.
5. To save presets, I needed to set Administrator Permissions to the User Preset folder.

Done.. works and is practically portable! Only 13 MB zipped for windows version.

I'm italian: perdonami ma.. quale patch dovrei copiare? "plugin to plugin folder" non è chiaro. (io ho windows 7 ultimate 64 bit).

On Windows, asking for a registration code or option of Trial. Am I missing something? I even copied the dll / vst3 from the Moria folder over top, in case that was needed.
