A sampler "free for non commercial use" I wonder how it is possible to enforce this type of policy. How can they know if my billionaire hit was composed with this instrument? Does the engine superimpose a footprint on my loaded samples?

From the manual:
Sampler Import formats:
● Auto mapping when multiple fles are opened at once.
● Samples: .WAV (8 to 32 Bit), .MP3, .OGG, .RAW.
● Programs: .AKP (Akai S5000/S6000), SF2, SFZ, GIG, DLS.

Sampler Export formats:
● Samples: .WAV.
● Programs: .SFZ.

It's pretty handy for loading Akai, SFZ, and GIG [old VSL in GIG format? ;)] programs, and it sounds very good since it uses nice sinc-64 or sinc-512 sample interpolation [512 uses a lot of CPU]. Quick to work with. When it comes to synthesis, though, TAL Sampler and Kontakt are far better. This one is very simple, more like a sample player.

A long time ago it was said that it was a way to trick the bots into recognising the name of the software inside and obscuring the post, but I never really believed that...

However, with the speed of today's network it seems to me that this concept is outdated (if it was ever true).

abusing doesnt work like that. DMCA bots look for the content of the article and then crawl the hosted files and report them to the Hoster (UL,RG,KF, etc) for removal. It doesnt change anything if you name it with numbers or whatever.

Passwords, captchas and pages in between just make the game a little bit harder.

@filtersweep, just scan it JD2 and you will see which one is which.

I agree, in fact I wrote that I did not believe much in that story.

Anyway, I (and most people) still don't understand why today a small file of a few mega is broken down into 5/10 files...
But what's the point... is there perhaps a mysterious explanation that we don't know about? Maybe some hidden 'Illuminati' practice or sorcery?

So, just out of curiosity, does anyone have the answer?

Tried it for only 5 minutes from the developer website, my complaints:
-No drag and drop.
-Font is not that great to look at.
-No double click or modifiers to reset parameters.
-Small not resizable GUI, hard to see parameters, can be very fiddly when trying to reset parameters to default since there no reset like i mentioned above.
I would like to try their other "Bliss" sampler and see if it's better.

nether version of highlife seems to properly load .ogg files. not sure why they put that in the formats list. going to stick to the free TX16Wx sampler. has much more powerful features imho:
