which lists 7 akai formats, 1 alesis, 2 korg, 1 roland, and 1 yamaha. thats not what i consider all formats, nor current.

Thats weird, If its a new version, it should show in NA for mac but it still at 4.1.6 that is really odd.

Installed it and it's a demo.
Of course it's a demo because it was keygened for another PC. You need to download R2R Battery 4.1.6 release and use R2R's keygen to get the serial, machine ID and authorisation numbers for your PC and then this v4.1.7 will work normally.

So you don't have to go back to R2R's v4.1.6, but you do need their keygen. It's a strange release, but everybody knows groups are not allowed to release anything with someone else's keygen.

No way, this will not work. Tested on 2 different machines after trash everithing about Battery (even registers), installed 4.1.6 R2R, installed 4.1.7 VR. Now both are in demo mode! This is a not working and dangerous release, at this point I suggest to stay away since there`s a secure and not `digging inside registers` solution, sorry...

thats what happend to me after "just install"

in the past days i got rid of omnisphere and battery 4.
these two old plugins always killed me...

For some reason I can't roll back. 4.1.6 ran fine before installing this. Now 4.1.6 runs in demo mode also. Is anyone else having this issue?

Native Instruments download page for Battery is still 4.1.6 so where does this version come from ?

I found no info anywhere about such a 4.1.7 version.

Ok, I find a solution. First I have uninstalled Battery 4 (any version), then:

1) Installed 4.16 R2R version. Launched one time (or not all registers are created, pressed demo then quit.

2) Used regedit,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Native Instruments\Battery 4
and used R2R KG for manually fill SN,System ID and Auth.

3) AGAIN reg edit to reach
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE/Native Instruments/Battery 4
(It`s different from the one above!!!), put the same values.

This let the 4.16 come back to work.

4) Installed VR 4.17 and filled again just the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE/Native Instruments/Battery 4
register with a different SN/System ID and Auth from the r2r register app. Now both works, as you can see it`s a `digging inside registers` and not `Just Install....


Post Scriptum..

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\Native Access\ras3

If your system has it before install 4.17 maybe better erase it so it can be writed by 4.17 VR
