AmpCraft 1992 – High Gain Legend

FROM THE CREATOR OF THERMIONIK AND RECABINET - A NEW GENERATION OF AMP MODELING IS HERE.

AmpCraft - 1992 represents the first in a new line of amp modeling plugins. Focused on being the world's most accurate emulation of a legendary high gain tube amplifier used on countless albums and tours, this plugin also includes 4 overdrive pedal emulations, a noise gate, as well as a dual-channel IR loader with EQ and speaker dynamics emulation, with a selection of critically acclaimed Recabinet impulse responses.

Features
Highly accurate, touch sensitive emulation of the famous American "block letter" high gain tube amplifier, known for its crushing lead channel.
Higher-headroom clean/crunch channel than the hardware - enjoy sparkling true clean and mid-gain tones with no fuss, for versatile use across many musical genres outside of hard rock and metal.
4 overdrive pedals:
808 - Based on the latest, limited boutique Japanese "808" pedal with handpicked vintage ICs, this is a smooth overdrive that sculpts attack beautifully all the way from blues to metal.
66 - Based on the modern boutique EQ/boost pedal made famous by one of the most influential Swedish metal bands.
Stockholm - Based on the legendary Japanese-built pedal known for its buzzsaw distortion that became a staple in the early Swedish deathmetal scene.
Djrive - Based on the modern boutique overdrive pedal that has become an industry standard tool of the modern prog metal scene, this model has selectable voicings that make it useful in a variety of tunings for precise adjustment of picking attack response.
Noise gate - the G8 pedal model is based on a popular single-knob noise gate pedal that has been fine tuned for the needs of the modern metal player.
2 channel Cabinet IR loader with the following features:
4 included Cabinet IR packs from the Recabinet - Remastered collection, with 8 mic models on each cabinet.
1960 4x12 - Based on the legendary modern British 4x12
Green 4x12 - Based on the legendary vintage 70s British 4x12
Oversize 4x12 - Based on an American oversized Baltic Birch 4x12 cabinet
Tangerine 4x12 - Based on a modern British cabinet known for a classic-style voicing and colorful design.
Variable blending - psychoacoustically level matched in the center position.
4 band EQ
Speaker dynamics control
Stereo Panning (when used in a stereo instance)
Adjustable short delay (useful when mixing IRs from different makers, to account for phase discrepancies.)
Solo and phase reverse toggles
Oversampling - up to 32x

easily the best 5150 amp sim I've ever play
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

The NG attack is terribly slow and the gate tends to flutter noticeably while closing. Might want to use another gate in front of this. Actually the entire pedal section leaves much to be desired. They sound quite "tacked on so we can say we have them". For example the 808 acts and sounds nothing like any of the 3 physicals I have running through clean or crunch. Anyway, thanks for the share, good to know these things to consider before pushing buy or not. Regards.

This is crashing Reaper 6.37 at launch!!

Hmm...seems I might have underestimated Reaper as it appears from your post it's intelligent enough to automatically purge garbage products. Regarding this share Reaper likely just saved you a bit of time and some cash. S1 did not do that for me as it allowed me to test before I had to physically press uninstall plugin. Your mileage may vary of course.

lol, true tho I use reaper too and it did not do me that favor

I don't understand HOW ppl think it sounds good : NO DYNAMIC

Try THU Rig Player with 5150 profile (search function) AND disable cab, use OwnHammer IRs
Even a good GE LABS profile sound better

Freq curve is good, the rest is boring

The sound depends on many things like your guitar, preamp, playing style, speakers and even your pick. I can make this plugin sound good. Maybe you prefer another plugin that I don't like. I love OH IRs too btw. ;)

Dynamic is not dependent on anything else.
This amp is flat. Like most "algo" sims.

Especially when you tried THU Rig Player, STL, Neural DSP, Kemper, GE labs / GE200+, Quad Cortex profiled amps.

did they just put thermionik psycho in a new GUI?
the drive works well for low tunings

When I try to export my mix in Studio One with the plugin, I have no sound. Otherwise it works, just not when exporting. Only the DI tracks sound.

Just updated from windows 10 to windows 11 build 22000.282 and it's not crushing in Reaper v6.38 anymore; I can say win11 feels more smooth than win10 in my old laptop (win11 not supported) so that said, this Amp sims sounds very different from my other Apm Sims like ML Sound Amp Roots, Audio Assault AHM5050.

Thank you SEnki, best regards

tested it and did not like so much... not a bad plugin... just cant compare to NDSP, STL Tones and ML Sound Lab 5150 amp sims versions....

Nevermind, user error! sorted now.

Absolutely love this plugin, defo one of the best 5150/6505's out there and I've tried many :)
Initially it sounded like turd until I read the user guide and adjusted interface gain down to -24db.
I usually use Helix as it sits in a mix well without much extra work, but this one sounds better to my ears as a raw amp.
