Nostalgic Saturation
Tape Cassette 2 is an audio plugin that emulates the warmth, noise and character of old tape cassettes. Following up from our well received Tape Cassette 1, we've updated the plugin with a sleek interface and more changes under the hood too.

Along with a brand new selectable Type 1 Cassette Impulse Response (IR), we've improved the saturation algorithm, wow & flutter engine and implemented real sampled tape noise, all which results in a wonderfully warm and more accurate vintage sound. In addition to this you now have two VU meters to monitor your audio as well as selectable oversampling.

Now you can easily add that classic sound to an entire track or use it directly on individual channels for added movement, texture, and warmth. Alternatively you can take it further than the material limitations of tape and push the parameters into a far more experimental soundscape, as a sound design tool.

requires the user to register an account to acquire a free license
and then be online to authorize the free license to use the plugin.

We're not sure why the developers did this but we hope they see this
and remove the whole authorization process for this FREE plugin.

I'm always grateful for cracked versions of free plugins that become actually free and usable without restriction.

I can remember how I looked up these plugins and finding a post by the developer where they said that they did online checks because apparently their older free plugins were repacked on sites where the site owners included malware in them. So I can understand the need to do it this way. But on the other hand, it is now good to have them actually liberated, so thank you.

the malware argument again ... just like devs saying, or blabla game/program has malware if its cracked/patched blabla ... (no it doesnt, its just free ...)

As a developer you dont think like a user and sometimes you make decisions you would even hated as user yourself.

I guess maybe to get people to buy their plugins, bcs once you have an account, it is more likely that you buy the other products?

I dont want my DAW to go online, period. That's why I'll never use a plugin that calls home (not even for free).
