A fairly unique sounding chorus/spatial expander from the late '80s. It's essentially a four voice chorus with extended delay times and with two out of the voices being out of phase with the other two.

Wow, my favorite stereo widener just got sexier

Actually, it's pretty bad stereo widener as far as the technology it is concerned. It's a recreation of Massive's Dimension Expander which basically throws one channel out of phase and displaces it in time which can cause all type of phase-related issues. Shouldn't be used when having subtley in mind. And definitely not on busses!

I'm guessing you probably haven't used it? Cuz the sides cancel out perfectly keeping the mono intact. Been using it on channels and busses for at least 5 years now with no audible evidence of phasing related problems.

You're absolutely correct : the number of phases shifts, level incoherences and other spikes this " thing " introduces to a track is terrible. Which is not an amazing discovery in that " genre ".

So which stereo widener plugin do you can recommend?

I can't answer you about that : I don't use those " wideners " anymore ( since the sort of situation described above which of course I was trapped into also ).

For stereo positioning : 2CAudio Precedence + 2CAudio Breeze 2. Example :

For guitars - as I try to make noises with 6 strings ( at most! ) - : TC 1210, TC 2290, Lexicon 80, ... à la Michael Landau, Steve Farris, Tim Pierce, typically.
Example : 3 NOTES =>

You'll find the p-i of most of those on AZ. If not, search the Oural mountains big flows in Cyrillic .

Logic "stereo spread" is good I use it sometimes. It's on many tracks I've released.

I would suggest:
Ozone 9 Imager (the multiband one, not the free one)
And adding short delays - with SoundToys EchoBoy for example - on a bus followed by a chorus, mixed together with the original sound obviously.
I'm an orange critter from Arcade with a large nose (but I don't lie!).

I use Mongoose by Boz Digital Labs; zero phase issues and affordable.

The Clavichord is from the Late Middle Ages. It's not a Clavinet.
