Inspired by SketchCassette’s NR Comp algorithm, ShapeShifter is a one-of-a-kind dynamics remodeler and character compressor that will completely transform the shape of your sounds. ShapeShifter molds a blend of multi-band upward and downward compression into a toolbox for adding color, body, and grit to your sounds. This can take the form of anything from a subtle vibe boost to blown-open, raucous carnage.

ShapeShifter supports the following formats and operating systems:

Windows 7 or later – VST3 and AAX at 64-bit

macOS 10.10 Yosemite through macOS 11 Big Sur – Intel or Apple Silicon – AU, VST3, and AAX at 64-bit

To install ShapeShifter onto your computer, simply run the installer package for your OS.

Restart your digital audio workstation before loading in the plugin to a project. On macOS, you may need to restart your computer for new plugins to appear in some hosts.

Like I need to be graphical designer to have opinion on product I could potentially use. Don't be foolish. Even If I happened to be one I sure will choose functionality, ease on eyes before silly gimmicks, but that is just me. I get they wanted to stand out in this oversaturated market. You like it's interface, good for you. I am person to choose normal hammer before seahorse shaped one :D

I would have a same opinion even if it wasn't free. That's not a point. Nor I need another plugin like this. Just the GUI with all the asymmetrical shapes and colors makes me dizzy and is unnecessary distracting. Other people might perceive it differently. I just think the company goes against itself with this interface as it might put off a many.

I could probably make an airwindows gui and I dont even know how to code... who the fuck says plugins need to be designed to look good... just gimme some sliders and knobs that do something... could give two shits what it looks like

It's a "color compressor"! That must be the impetus behind the design of the GUI...that and the probability that the artist is the niece of the developer

I think that the demo does justice showing the rip roaring sound that this thing can coax out of instruments. I'm gonna check it out but do my best to not look at my monitor lest I'm blinded by it's light

ugh stupid no vst2.. as easy as it would be for them to simply include export as vst2. vst3 might be better over vst2 in some small ways but there's no difference in sound quality and you don't get fxb presets anymore w vst3 (at least not in ableton).. i guess patchwork could be a workaround

Why don’t you offer VST2 versions of your plugins?

In October of 2018, Steinberg, the creators of the VST2 and VST3 formats, stopped granting licenses to new developers for the distribution of VST2 plugins. This means that in order to distribute VST2 plugins, developers need to have signed a VST2 license agreement with Steinberg prior to October of 2018. Since we started developing plugins in early 2019, we unfortunately missed this deadline and are not able to distribute our plugins in the VST2 format. Fortunately, this decision by Steinberg has started to force DAW developers to include VST3 support if they haven’t already, so provided you use a current DAW, this limitation shouldn’t be an issue for long!
