iZotope has re-released its Vinyl – free creative effect plugin that simulates the dust, scratches, warp, and mechanical noise of vintage turntables.

The new version of Vinyl comes with an updated GUI that aligns with the design trends from iZotope: it is simple and clean and Izotope says it cuts down on learning time so you can get right to crafting believable vintage effects. It now looks like the other iZotope plugins such as Ozone stereo imager or Vocal Doubler.

Vinyl is also light on CPU resources, so you can enjoy its benefits even in your most complex productions.

Because it works for me. I have ALL the control over the machine and the OS and it's hidden configs.

It's about choice and control, not to be controlled (it may work for the average user). I don't see any value on "SeCuRiTy UpDaTeS". That machine isn't even plugged on the internet, so.... Antivirus?! NEVER used.

I'm by no means an expert, but with minimal programming knowledge it's safe to say, as we talking about windows and DLLs, not as in osx or linux/bsd variants where you have a ton of libs and toolchains that need to be version compatible and all that for an upgrade. I'm pretty sure it's almost as easy as check/uncheck a box before compiling it... MSCV++ runtime?!

As a user i expect you to be on the user side, or are you ballman or gates?!
Don't mind me anyway, it's a win win situation, cause once i've reached an end of line of something (daw or plugin), means that i don't need to worry about it anymore.

This plugin is pure crap.I understand why izotope are giving it for free.
One of the worst,useless plugin I've ever tried.
I installed it yesterday from the izotope's website and uninstalled it 5 minutes later.It sounds like sh!t,nothing comparable to a real turntable.Thousands miles away.

I was never an iZotope fan, anyway, so this whole No-more-Win7-support bit isn't that big of a deal to me. That being said, it's not terribly difficult to keep plugins Win7 compatible, so it really is a meaningless gesture on their part.
Ask me how many people I know who work in all avenues of music production still use Win7; it's more than many.
Incidentally, it's not really that great of a plugin... I would recommend Klevgrand's DAWLP, or any number of bridged, x86 vinyl emulators stacked on top of each other at low settings for you want that Lofi crackle.
