i converted the SDIR files years ago with audacity to wav, since then never used them lol. they are working with reverberate and SIR btw, but something like 2GB uncompressed.

You should consider use it not only as reverb but as creative tool
TIP: apply some impulses from Warped folder on any sounds from pad to drumgroup and check result

Doesn't 'Altiverb 6' use its proprietary Format for its 'Impulse Responses', and as follows :

* impulse L.SD2
* impulse R.SD2
* info.iri

And maybe this could the reason of the trouble you're facing when trying to load
either a '.wav', or an '.aiff' file into it...

Are they converted by resampling (processing 1 sample pulse) or extracted directly by reverse engineering?

Sound Designer isn't pure convolution, so sampling method won't extract the original samples.

So SDIR isn't encrypted like Altiberb or TL Space and it's possible to convert it without reverse engineering?

Then it's great release indeed.

Every major IR library is encrypted so expected Sound Designer will be the same.
