Regarding converting proprietary formats.
Recetly I got an interest in reverse engineering and made some success with cracking plugins that aren't released by any group.

Anyone interested in WizooVerb W2 15 HDIR impulses? They're fine samples recorded in real spaces, which is more rare than synthetic impulses. HDIR file is encrypted and contains 6 channels. 4 for true stereo (LL LR RL RR) and two for mono-to-stereo or economic stereo.

Currently released rip is sampling the plugin with pulse and thus 2 channels only, besides sounding worse than direct conversion (WizooVerb is a hybrid reverb and mangles impulses on the way out).

Yesterday I've managed to do some hacking on this plugin and succesfully decrypt one impulse (Ambience).

Anybody interested in this? I'll send the results for releasing once I'll got them all. copylefter, maybe?

P. S. Another one that I got my hands on is Massey plugins for Windows VST (ct5, tapehead and vt3). I have and intention of releasing it as a little revenge for cancelling VST ports if anyone will express the interest.

Anyone had chance to run it? I´ve try three convolution reverbs which runs aiff format and nothing happend
