QUANTUM LEAP SPACES from EASTWEST is a 24-bit, true stereo. convolution reverb that sets a new standard by utilizing new impulse recording techniques developed over the past seven years.

An arsenal of the best gear that Fairchild, Manley, Meitner, Neumann, Neve, Sennheiser, Sony, Telefunken, TG (to name a few) have produced over the past 60 years was used to create QUANTUM LEAP SPACES. ATC monitors were positioned in the room/hall to emulate the real world sound projection properties of various instruments. So an impulse taken for a French horn was created by firing the sweep tones from the middle to left rear of the stage, backwards and slightly towards the floor. 1st violin section impulses were taken by firing a series of speakers at an angle towards the ceiling, just like a real section. A fifth speaker with the high end reduced was fired towards the floor to emulate the body of the violins. This same methodology was used to record reverbs for rock instruments in various LA studios. Because of this, the reverbs in QUANTUM LEAP SPACES have a fantastic balance of early reflections and room sound that really draws a dry instrument into the space, rather than the usual "sound plus reverb" result.

QUANTUM LEAP SPACES includes a very hi-resolution, true stereo engine that focuses on delivering the very best sound at a very low CPU load. Most impulses are in 8 channel format, so surround mixes can be created. In the end, what makes QUANTUM LEAP SPACES unique is that every impulse is special. There is no wading through endless folders of cryptically labelled identical sounding impulses. In fact, QUANTUM LEAP SPACES takes the mystery out of choosing reverbs by suppling suitable recommendations for every instrument and style.

QUANTUM LEAP SPACES has custom impulses taken over the past seven years from around the globe, with a focus on the Western United States. QUANTUM LEAP SPACES includes concert halls (including the EWQLSO Hall), churches, cathedrals, caverns, rock studios (including EastWest Studios), soundstages, forests, a swimming hall, parking garages, water tanks, a tunnel, vintage plates and custom digital reverb preset impulses. To take it all a step further, additional impulses were supplied by Ralph Kessler of masterpinguin. Ralph is responsible for the best impulses in the now discontinued Wizoo W2 and W5 reverbs. Remember the HDIR Cathedral? This impulse and dozens of others from the same venue are included in QUANTUM LEAP SPACES, along with other fantastic European venues. Ralph shares the same passion for reverb impulses that we do. His methods are slightly different, but the results are stunning and state of the art.

Features

•Produced and Engineered By Nick Phoenix
•Highest resolution, most useful, reverbs available
•24-bit True Stereo, with True Surround capability
•ATC, Neumann, Telefunken, Neve, Meitner Signal Path
•Film Score, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Classical, Esoteric and Dreamy Reverbs
•Low CPU usage, with cleanest signal path possible

This IR library was ripped from EASTWEST QUANTUM LEAP SPACES and can be used with any true stereo convolution reverb. No more buggy plugin, no more trashy PACE/iLok, yes more performance, yes more tweaking.
SPACES is particularly known for containing EWQLSO Hall / Northwest Orchestral Hall true stereo preset, the hall that was used for recording EWQL Symphonic Orchestra. The preset can be used to blend with that library seamlessly.
SPACES plugin may be a clumsy DRM makeweight but the library itself is brilliant, so if you make money with it or use it a lot, consider buying the original product and putting it on a shelf.
All impulse responses are stereo/24-bit/48kHz WAV files.
Technical details and preset information are included in EWQL Spaces - IR Library.html

Probably because 96 and 44.1 kHz IRs are not included + no graphics.

Plugin not included: How to use this lib?

Just load them on any reverb plugin that allows you to load IR( Space designer, Altiverb,Rematrix,etc,etc.....) and should work fine.
I've checked them on Altiverb 7 and in Logic pro X Space designer and work like a charm, plus sound is amazing!
Thanks Sunny!

Once Space designer plugin is open, click on left side where it says IR sample - ,
and then look for your EWQL Spaces folder and choose one of the IR preset, click open.
Enjoy

Very interesting..i actually never heard of this separatly,it's "ripped". So it is something "lookalike" as Ativerb 7, Overloud Rematrix and similar.Gonna try this today. Also works as VST plug and created with cleary good gear. And interchangeble IR's. Thanks for this good stuff Sunny !
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail..

How does this thing work if the plugin isn't included?

Simply read the discription of the post!
"This IR library was ripped from EASTWEST QUANTUM LEAP SPACES and can be used with any true stereo convolution reverb. No more buggy plugin, no more trashy PACE/iLok, yes more performance, yes more tweaking!"

So you can use it in other reverb plugIns that uses Impulse Responses! Ativerb 7, Overloud Rematrix etc.

Thanks Sunny! Is there a way to import the 2 true Stereo files in altiverb. I can only load one or the other.

These IRS are not converted from original files.
They are only sampled when the plugin is run real time and feed a sample to trigger the reverb engine.

There is latency in the start of the IRS.
The is a short silent gap in the beginning of the IRS.

It'd make sense, since probably the original ones are heavily encrypted.

So in this case rip would be like when you do eq matching with ozone/proq2. You kind of "sample" the impulse loaded in the original EWQL plugin. Using a sweep tone and so on...
[2009] Sorry for my English. I'm working on it
[2017] I'm beginning to improve. Hell yeah, I'm a fast learner :D

I have also tried to resample SPACE before, but due to my lack of experience working with convolution reverb, the results were not to my satisfaction. Actually there's a lot of presets in SPACE making the most of the samples, with Nick Phoenix's chosen pre-delay, dry-wet mix ratios and so on. It's in my opinion not only a collection of IR samples, but also presets. (I know everyone can dial the knobs and change the parameters according to their own tastes, but "signature" presets are always nice starting points.)

I don't have access to my studio computer within a couple of days, so can't try this out right now and compare to the original SPACE plugin. To anyone who has tried it out: Is this a collection of resampled IRs or presets? In my attempt I used to dial every knob to extremes before resampling, wishing to capture the IRs as raw as possible. I messed up with the sweeps and deconvolving though. :(

Thank you Sunny.
Sounds fantastic in Hofa's IQ-Reverb. Try it yourself. Need to normalize though before use in the Reason reverb.

Thanks for this. Might anyone be so kind as to demystify, for me, the process of importing these into Altiverb 7? Thanks so much.

First of all , move EWQL Spaces IR folder to whatever place you have your IR libraries stored.
I have them all in an external HD. I recommend you to create an IR Third Party folder and put inside all your IR stuff from different sources.(EWQL Spaces, Ownhammer, Samplicity,etc,etc....)
Then open Altiverb 7, go to preferences and check on the right side IR folder: , you'll se "Third party" and "choose" button, just click on it and select where your IR third party folder is and voila, enjoy.
