there is something strange. or a bug

<HU><JDX> are not the same from Add Lib
than from the setup install drive C

i checked to relock drive C from lib tool. it fail
once corrected it works.

M1 Monterey 12.6 here. Installed normally, didn't have any issues with "The instrument belongs to a library that is not installed currently" error.
Note, this overwrites Kontakt Factory Library v1 so the Factory Library doesn't show anymore in Kontakt 6.7.1.
However, it is working perfectly with Kontakt 7, showing as Kontakt Factory Library 2. Opens in both Standalone and plugin Kontakt. Everything works as it should, sounds great and UI looks refreshing. All previews are working, too.

I'm on Win 10 Deathrow. I've used Bob Dules Kontakt 7 and installed the Factory Library to another internal drive. Added the Library and it's registered. I've tried all suggestions here but still get the dreaded 'not installed' message.

1. Uninstall the Libray with official uninstaller and delete the old Library Folder if there
2. Delete Kontakt Factory Library 2.xml from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center if there
3. Delete Registry Folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt Factory Library 2 if there
4. Delete C:\ProgramData\Native Instruments\Installer Log\Kontakt Factory Library 2 1.0.4.1 Setup PC Log xxx.ini if there
5. Restart Computer
6. Start Kontakt for refreshing Database
7. Close Kontakt 7
8. Install the Library with the Setup.exe to the Place you want, after this don't use R2R Manager or Kontakt Tool from Bob....
9. Start Kontakt 7 and try...

I'm on Win11 and use Bobs Release, no Problems so far,

also the R2R kontakt manager
that break the good <HU><JDX> comming from the setup install.

but in fact the setup extracted nicnt need to be corrected.
it look like a Ni joke.

the GOOD NICNT to change
it will go faster. you can also do it yourself with notepad.

the original installer nicnt is BAD.
it need to be FIXED in the next update as usual with Ni.

Well, I just tried with everything set to the original .nict values and that did not work at all. It needs as I wrote above, and both .nicnt files work equally the same, then. So your conclusion seems to be the correct one.

Even more strange, when I put your .nict that seems to be correct, I don't get the wallpaper. It probably is a caching issue and a restart fixes or something.

The bad .nict fixes it, lol. Instruments load well in either case, as long as info is set as I said above. - And now, switching back and forth, wallpaper shows for both. It's only some cache issue, I am fairly sure.

the other joke is Kontakt integration in komplete kontrol.

the previews open 6.7.1when installed, not 7 directlly.
it need to load the VST3 & drag and drop the presets.

maybe a new version will be done before we have to hack it.

To me this exact thing happened when my Kontakt 7 VST3 file was not installed to the default VST3 folder. (In my case I used subfolders within the VST3 folder named after vendors.) Komplete Kontrol still listed Kontakt 7 in the list of plugins in the preferences dialog, but when trying to actually load a Kontakt instrument preset, it fell back to the VST2 version of Kontakt 6. After reinstalling Kontakt 7 to the default VST3 folder directly, all is working out just fine. Strange though...

thank so much for bobdule for fix this and worked perfectly!! minor issue but how did you fixed wallapepr..? cuz Im very a e s t h e t i c person so, can't live without single wallpaper in my libs.

(using mac m1 air monetery btw)

edit) figured it !!!

0. make sure save copy original .nicnt somewhere else,
1. and replace .nicnt with fixed GOOD NICNT (as bob said) inside the library.
2. open up Konakt (it will work but with no wallpaper)
3. THEN, bring back the copy of original .nicnt you saved, and replaced the fixed GOOD .nicnt you just worked

I did it as you said @dkdrlahEL, but it's not working for me, same message (instrument not installed properly).
I am on Win10, bobdule Kontakt 7.0.11 R3.
I manually extracted (all pkg files), complete library (I used 7z for this), and copy to disk D:\NI_Libraries\
I used manager library tool (from bobdule for v.7), to add library.
I correctly see it (all instruments) in Kontakt, but I can't open any instrument.
All time same message "instrument belonging to library not installed properly".
Did I make mistake that I did not use the installer, but unpacked manually, and manually copy to custom location disk D:?
Or it is something else?
Please, help me with some suggestion, if you can.
I will be greatly appreciate!

Since im using MAC (m1 monteray) and used kitty's script(for mac),
not sure that how r2r would work with it as window

so bascially what I did was
1. unregister Factory Library 2 with Kitty script
2. replaced native access (with script)
3. put FL2 on my folder, use script to add library
(FL2 would appear on kontakt, but with "not installed" message)
4. replaced with GOOD NICNT (from bob)
(and now it works but with no wallpaper)
5. replaced with with original .nicnt

Hope you would find solution from other people !!

I am on Win 10 and use Kontakt 6.7.1 PORTABLE.
I get the "... library not installed..." message.
The registry matches what Bobdule and teamCubea has specified earlier.

I hope someone find a solution for the portable version as this is the only one version I and many of us use.

What am I missing here?

UPDATE: Thanks to: TeamCubeadooby for the solution! Works like a baby in the Moonlight! :-) Except that Cubase is crashing 9 out of 10 starting a project with Kontakt 7 in it...

With this information, you can move the library about, and manually install it to other machines if you want it in only one location. Don't forget the Service Center 2 files (one for NativeAccess, the new one from R2R and one for the new library itself.) And for that, this folder copied to other machine, too:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt Factory Library 2

But if you DO move the library, you have to edit the registry here TOO:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt Factory Library 2

So, make it all match up. Tested and proven, for sure for sure, working.

You're welcome. Do what you have to do to get the original factory .exe, .vst3 and .aaxplugin. Maybe UniExtract2 RC3 (scroll down to "Download") works on the installer to do this. In any case, get them somehow, even if you need to re-install. You need clean original untouched files. Then patch them with latest v3 from Bob. This is the path to giving the best chances for least crashes or none.
