Chill-Hop is still a relatively new genre. But its influences — jazz, boom bap, and lo-fi, are not new to today’s music scene. Perfect for studying and relaxing, Chill-Hop draws from the best of each genre that it is derived from. Essence, our latest sample pack, is no different. With the complex chord structures of jazz, the groove of boom-bap hip hop, and the textures of lo-fi music, “Essence” captures just that; the essence of Chill-Hop. This collection features 10 Melodic Loops and over 70 one-shots of various keyboards and synths for chopping and layering. Each loop is not only played with live instruments (no programming or quantizing, just great musicianship and feel), but also is mixed and processed through analog gear for that tried-and-true thick lo-fi sound that makes Chill-Hop, well, chill!

Chill-Hop?

Not as good as Rythm N' Ambient, and not even close to Trap Jazz Wave Pop. I can hardly wait for New Synth Soul Fusion Trance.

Haha, well-played, Fudsey.
Not surprisingly, I'm tired of every genre of music riding the Hip Hop Ticket.
That being said, I'm also tired of people making Hip Hop from designated "Hip Hop" packs. This is the very epitome of a genre that's eating off of itself--Hip Hop may have it's roots in original Soul and early Rn'B, but the idea is to create something from nearly anything.
None of this is to say that you can't use sample packs, but the idea is to create something of your own, not mimic what a audio production company dictates is Hip Hop. I think the best sample packs are ones that have solid enough audio cuts that they can be utilized in a variety of ways, and Soul Surplus seems to get that.

Well said.
Some won't understand and take offense.
It still needed to be said IMO.
