The interface is geared towards hands-on, immediate tweakability. It features a neat little Tilt EQ, a powerful 4-pole filter, and can map MIDI velocity to both amplifier and filter cutoff, giving you playable expression that was uncommon on most of the original hardware. Thereā€™s Chorus and Tube Saturation to enhance the sound, plus a Limiter to tame over-enthusiastic analogue waves. All the modern additions can be easily switched off, though, if all you want is the original factory patch in its raw state.

Manufacturing for Rolands iconic TR-808 began in 1980 and then ceased promptly in 83. Mainly because, well, it was a bit terrible.

At least that was the general consensus. Even Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing couldn't peak the audio communities interest. Though if we're honest, the audio production community of the early '80s probably didn't pay a great deal of attention to Marvin. But then, Run-DMC. Thanks Run-DMC.

When I was a kid, a bunch of my friends had the same little musical toy. It was about a quarter of an inch thick, about the size of a smartphone; it featured a row of rubbery buttons which, when pressed, would play different notes on a scale. It was, essentially, a tiny, very primitive synthesizer.

It sounds exactly like I remembered: the notes all lasted the same amount of time, and the pitch wasnā€™t 100% constant.

Baby toys have been transformed into a rare and useful hybrid sample library for Kontakt (Full Version). There are huge epic hybrid drum loops and braams, eerie hits, odd tonal keyboard and other indescribably sample instruments made with baby xylophones, baby bottles, babies crying souls and other baby paraphernalia.
Our goal is to expand the sound design possibilities to the limit.
