KONTAKT - 5,86 GB
Herz-OG is a colossal 12 GB (compressed - 6 GB) Kontakt Instrument synthesiser that’s packed full with over 35,000 separate samples. It comes with a unique custom Kontakt interface with a simple elegant design and fully functioning sequencer. Herz-OG comes with over 700 preset instruments that are merely your starting points on the road to creating the patches of your dreams. Alternatively you can combine two or more patches to create multis that are incredibly complex in texture and sound.

With Herz-OG easy manipulation is everything. With its 15 Individual filters, 11 LFO shapes. Unison Voice Mode, a pair of multifunctional sync-able delays, separate ADSRs for pitch, filter and amplitude, variable sample start, saturation and analogue-feel knobs….and let’s not forget that amazing sequencer, all accessible from one beautiful uncomplicated GUI, this instrument is a joy to use.

Herz-OG also lets you assign standard MIDI controllers to virtually any parameter so that you can control them from a MIDI controller in real-time. Add to that an immense 12Gb of immaculately recorded analogue and digital samples and you have an instrument that no self-respecting musician or composer should be without.

Searing leads, warm luscious pads, solid fat basses, intricate sequences, FX and much more, Herz-OG has it all!
Herz-OG requires the FULL version of Kontakt 5.7.0 or higher

It's strange, there is almost no stereo image. .. looks like all the sound sources are in mono...but it could be my mono ears...

Will still download and test it. From the 700 patches, there must be at least 10 to 20 cool ones.

This makes me think about halion... with its dozens of synthesis, all types of modulations, filters, step recording to auto sample instruments, scripting, custom interface, and a million of other features. .. and probably there are less than 5 commercial libraries for sale ! Meanwhile, there are at least 5'000 kontakt-based libraries...crazy!

Looks like only cubase and nuendo users do buy halion 6. Even if steinberg sells it at 29 instead of 350 euros, most people would still not get it.. because everybody hates dongles.
I'm sure at least 1/3 of the current live/fl studio/logic/etc would be ready to move to cubase, if there was no such dongle.

I wonder if cracking cubase, and bypassing OR emulating the dongle is a matter of human resources, or computer resources... and it would take like 1000 threadripper 32cores and 30 full days, to calculate some stuff...

Without ANY competition, looks like there won't be any serious kontakt update, like v7, before...2 or 3 years.

There definitely needs to be some new samplers.

Maybe taking FORM and give it the option to function as a sampler as well (sampler with automatic pitch detection). That's what I want.

I've tried Halion 6 and honestly, I don't like it. It's supposed to be this one-stop sampler/synth... But, really, it isn't really all that. It's not ergonomic at all, and the pitch detection isn't as good as it should be.

Honestly, Kontakt needs to just make the legato functions as an available module of its sound design (instead of a script), and have automatic pitch mapping.

Plus Halion is a mess to use, sounds nothing special, too. I can't remember any Steinberg synth or sampler sounding interesting and really good making you say "I gotta have this". I remember trying Padshop, though, and thought "this is not so bad".

i'm curious if which patches are any good? and do they make the 6gigs worth it? (when we already have arturias and u-he, that can do any number of synth sounds perfectly.)

I too hear mono.

Thanks for the upload Talula

I wonder why people buy such a poor synth library when you can get much better ones from Pink Noise Studios much cheaper.

Steinberg lost the race (for obvious reasons) years ago and Kontakt won - the winner takes it all!!

Totally agree, or even Hideaway Studio. They have great inexpensive libraries! There have been way too many of thee types. If it weren't for contributors here we might end up wasting money. Mono? I'm not even gonna try because of that. Thanks Talula, you just saved everyone the agony of losing money.

I think it is just the video that has been encoded (or done by YouTube itself) in mono by mistake. The demos on the product page are definitely in stereo.

This thing sounds cheap AND terrible. But then again, what would you expect from Zero-G?

Audiosex would be a good place for this question.
As phloopy said, you may be more precise about what you're looking for.
