Unofficial resampling. VSL has not done anything Kontakt related after they began using their own engine, around the late 2000's or so

I assume that this release isn't official, meaning that it was not released by VSL themselves.

This was resampled by someone in order to be used in Kontakt and as such, bypassing the VSL player's protection. The question is what are we losing by using Kontakt instead of VSL's own player?

The "Standard" one has 42 GB at 285 €
The "Full" one hast 99 GB at 540 €

Not sure how this release has 1/3 more GB than the "Full" version.

Is this one "unpacked" already but the data on the website is listed as "packed"? But that would not make sense either, since they would surely give us the "how much does it take up on your HD" info.

So, any idea anyone?

There’s something strange in this piano: the sound is not bad, but it is drenched in reverb and no way to get rid of it, I can’t see any setting page. A kind of bad Kontakt programming

Uh, I seriously doubt you already downloaded all 79 parts since this just came out today. I have RapidGator Premium and am only at part 29 and have been downloading them for about four or five hours now. I also have gigabit internet.

About grand pianos, which VSL has produced as many as 6 pieces in recent years. The first three (in the same order as on the VSL website) — Bösendorfer Concert Grand 290 Imperial, Steinway & Sons D-274 and Yamaha CFX — were recorded in Studio A, and they are so wet that you cannot dry them. The second three — Bösendorfer 280VC, Blüthner 1895 and Bösendorfer Upright piano — were recorded in Studio B, and are so dry that you can't get wet. I allowed myself a bit of banter, yes. When choosing, pay attention, not all buyers are happy that they have to be taxied out of the box (and that they have to be taxied at all). They are found on the secondary market.
All pianos are quite cold and rigid — this is the position of VSL. The Veeselovites motivate this approach to recording grand pianos by saying that these are new instruments (except for one restored one), that it's not the 70s, and that all award-winning, grammy-winning recordings now spell the piano like this (it's true: indeed, that's how they write it). I think we can cautiously conclude that there is nothing like Emberton's Steinway from VSL.
