The Bösendorfer Imperial is an instrument that can only be described in superlatives. Its full, sonorous sound brims with the signature timbre that makes Bösendorfer a top choice for countless artists. Legendary composers like Bela Bartók, Claude Debussy, and Maurice Ravel were among the early admirers and adopters when the Bösendorfer Concert Grand 290 Imperial first debuted. Today, it still represents the apex of the famed Austrian piano manufacturer’s precious heritage, and now we bring it to your studio. One of its tonal secrets lies in its massive soundboard and extended range with additional bass notes making this grand piano sound impressively imperial. One of the most important aspects of 21st-century sampling is the ability to adjust the amount of reverb or even eliminate it entirely. In addition to choosing between Decca and cardioid microphone techniques, we can position the piano farther away from the speakers to create the most natural and authentic environment possible. Otherwise, we risk falling into the same patterns as those old Roland and Yamaha keyboards, which results in an acoustic environment where every instrument, including the percussionists, takes the front speaker.

Any decent Kontakt instrument has the ability to dose the reverb: this instrument has no control over the effects. From a 157GB sample pack I expected much better. I think it is not worth taking up so much space on the disk to have this piano. It will go in the trash

Aren't those parameters available to every Kontakt instrument by default?

Yeah. If there is in fact a reverb effect applied without a UI switch for it (not a very good design), anyone can still go into Kontakt's editor mode to disable the effect.

According to the manual there's a whole page dedicated to mixing the various capture sources. Obseruv... The reverb controls being at the right hand side of that Kontakt page.

Also, there are presets alluded to that suggest various ambiences including an "intimate" setting that uses all close mics with very little room. It all looks "tweakable" according to the manual. So unless this one is different to the one being described in the manual there should be tweaks for all sound capture sources + effects.

Hello, I am the creator of this lib, I understand how hard it is to press two buttons in the Kontakt itself, to create a snapshot after all, it is harder than to understand the siting of the one who did it, this is my first instrument, I am sampling for the first time, I am doing the interface for the first time, but of course, if you have this the attitude to everything, then no library will stay for long, it's not for me to teach you life, but something needs to change.

Everything you ask for will be in the updates, wait, I'm doing versioning for a reason.

And do not compare a decent library, which is made by a team of experienced people, and a library that was made by one person. There's a big difference. Such a comparison only means that you are not competent in this matter, which means that your opinion probably should not be taken seriously.

Appreciate the upload!
However because it's such a large download it would be good to know what was sampled. Like does it include the multiple mic positions, release samples, pedal noises, etc, that are in the original product?

I could transfer everything that was there, the only problem was my free space, it already weighs more than the original in a compressed state, adding more samples means inflating the size, as I noticed here, not everyone likes that it weighs a lot in relation to the original.

Microphone positions are inplemented.
Yamaha CFX: 10
Concert D-274: 11
Fazioli F308: 11
Boesendorfer Imperial: 11

Perhaps in the future there will be updates that will bring everything that was in the original, key releases, noises, and so on.

Yeah release samples might be quite difficult to isolate cleanly! Good luck though

This is a huge release. Thank you! I wasn't expecting this could come. Last time Pianoteq 6 release took me by surprise. Yesterday, Earth Piano unboxed. Several weeks ago, MD landed. The long list of most wanted piano vsts has been cleared by a large portion. Now there are only a few of them remain untouched. Thanks very much for all contributors.

is it even possible to resample a VSL library? I mean yes you can resample the sound played by it but can you get the attack-sustain-tail-resonance samples separately and program them correctly into Kontakt?
Or does VSL libraries let you see their parts revealed in a sample folder?

According to ChatGPT:
Converting VSL Bösendorfer to Kontakt would be like taking a Ferrari engine and putting it in a lawnmower.

The engine is still great, but you’ll lose:
- the suspension
- the transmission
- the aerodynamics
- …and basically the whole driving experience.

Hope we would have other VSL libraries like this one next

Wait, I've sampled the whole bundle, they'll be here soon.

Do any of the 4 have the "standard version" if you don't have enough space on a drive?

A big thank you to the people who made this Library and finally released it here.

I've tried it and it sounds warm and punchy.
I like the low range.
I can't imagine if you use the original (non-Kontakt) version.

Please forgive my lack of understanding of Kontakt and its UI.
Is there any way to change the Reverb settings on this library?
But in my case it's not a big deal, just curious if one day I want to make it more dry.

Hello, I'm preparing a global update for all my Synchron libraries, it's already ready, all that remains is to upload it here. All libraries have halved in size, and new samples have been added, such as pedal noise and releases (original). I also added the reverb controller as everyone asked, and yes, the first version has post-processing added by me, I added it for myself, but I forgot to turn it off, and as a result, all the first versions of the libraries were published with it.
Update 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 will be available soon, expect it. And if you have any more questions, you can see my profile, there are links to contact me.
