Adam Monroe Music has added sample rate conversion and built-in tremolo to Adam Monroe's Mark73.

The VST, AU, and AAX versions of the plugin now support 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz sample rates through real-time, automatic sample rate conversion, via cubic interpolation. A tremolo knob has also been added to the plugin to control tremolo algorithms incorporated from Adam Monroe's free Tremolo Plugin.

Adam Monroe's Rotary Organ was sampled from a Hammond M3 tonewheel Organ. The end goal was to simulate the sound of a Hammondnd B3 organ with rotating Leslie Speaker inside of a VST/AU/AAX plugin. Every drawbar on every note was sampled individually via the organ's built-in speaker through a Neumann TLM 102 microphone.

Adam Monroe's Wurlitzer virtual instrument plugin was sampled from an "early model" 1970's Wurlitzer 200A electronic piano. The process began by close-miking the piano with Beyerdynamic MC930 condenser microphones on the Wurlitzer's built-in speakers, and an AEA R84 Ribbon Mic on the line-out signal through a Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp. These signals were fed into Grace M101 and AEA TRP Preamps respectively.

When recording a Rhodes piano, nearly all, (or all?), instruments that has been recorded for a sampled instrument are lined. That means that you take the signal from the instrument, and feed it directly to the recording device. This means that you will get a very clean, bright signal. And that is, in itself, a good thing!

This is exactly why I choose not to do so!

Between Rhodes and Wurlitzer

Where it all begins. Hohner created The Electra Piano T in the early 70's and was followed by other electric piano manufacturers. It uses forks strucked by hammers and electronically converts vibrations transmitted to a transistorised amplifier.

Sampleson has announced an update to its Markus 88, a virtual electric piano instrument that models the sounds of the Rhodes.

Version 1.5 features a redesign of the entire harmonic spectrum and behaviors. Tines timbre is more natural, low range is darker and overall velocity responses were improved.
