Huh. Why would somebody want songwriting and producing advice from Alicia bloody Keys? To write another generic R&Bullshit song with a template structure and lyrics as deep as puddles in Sahara on a sunny day?

She's a brilliant singer/songwriter and coproduces a lot of her songs. She may not be your cup of tea but she's definitely not your generic R&B singer and that makes me question how much you're versed into your discography.

That said there's aways something to learn from artists that got to the level she is/was.

Gotta confess, I only explicitly listened to A Woman's Worth (a sad part of the job). And this, may I say, "song" is jam-packed with gender stereotypes and boasts a narrative that borders a lecture. And a quite ineffective one to boot, as I doubt anyone ever learned to appreciate somebody's worth with it.
I also only know of her existence because of this track, so whatever her level was, it passed by me.
Maybe it's her absolute worst song by a wide margin, I don't know, but if this is her average, then she's a bad songwriter.

The album that had "A Womans Worth" on it went diamond (selling over 12 million units worldwide) and won 5 Grammys. She's won 15 Grammy's in total. She's one of the most awarded female musicians of all time. I understand she may not be your cup of tea, or maybe rubbed you the wrong way with that song. However, millions of other people feel differently. It'd be dope if you could voice your distaste with a bit more education behind it. To call someones work BS just seems kind of disrespectful, and like an ignorant way to tear someone down.

It's obvious they are just a trash hater who has achieved nothing with their life and never will so they have to comment their uneducated negative opinions to make them feel better about their petty existence.
Nearly every song in any genre you could put in a template structure it's a moron comment by those who think their genre of music is better than others.

A bit late to come back to the party, but why exactly are popular awards and/or public opinions considered any indication of the work's quality? Most popular songs are always average, because most people's tastes are as well. That's by definition of "average". And Grammy is more of an indication to that than anything else. They rarely ever even feature something exceptional, it's a carnival of mediocrity, and most of all it's meant to be exactly this way.
I held a belief that this site, being somewhat off the mainstream, is also detached from the general averageness. Seeing this request not being all that popular, I think that belief stands true. What also stands true are my remarks on Keys' writing style.
Also that "Trash hater" comment is something else entirely. "I bet you're just a loser lol" is not really an argument towards anything but one's own ignorance.
I do hate trash alright tho. But this thing is too insignificant to hate it. I just don't get why would anybody here feel something other than indifference.

Alicia Keys as a teenager did something that Michael Jackson never did, She won the grammy award for both song of the year and record of the year for the song "Fallin."
