No, its a VST Instrument that plays AudioTheory through any VST Instrument.
Sort of like Komplete Kontrol with advanced Cords, etc
You open this as a VST Instrument (as you can with Komplete Kontrol)
Scan your other VST Instrument (once)
Then choose the instrument to play from a drop down menu (of your scanned VST Instruments)
Very much like Komplete Kontrol which Advanced Cord facilities.
I bought it and its great fun and very useful.
You can download from website, but you need ilok to use it.
ITS A FREE UPDATE FOR AudioTheory 4 owners (which is generous to give version 5 to version 4 owners. I bought AudioTheory 2 years ago and the upgrade paths have always been generous, unlike a lot of other software)

for apple logic pro they give midifx option for other daws its just vst which takes two tracks one for the auto theory and other for the instrument.

I dont know about Logic, but in Cubase and Maschine on PC, it loads as a VST Instrument which plays sounds from any other VST Instrument (which you choose from its drop down menu. It will also open the other VST Instruments Gui so you can make changes).
I think its great :)

Thanks to you all for these answers. As much as I would like to check this out I threw my iLock away years ago and have no provisions for downloading and activating this software. In another lifetime maybe....
