REQ: Roland Cloud Manager v2.0 Update screenshot
Roland Cloud Manager Remastered and New FX

With the 5.7 update to Roland Cloud, we’ve delivered several things that we know you’ll love. First and foremost, easy just got easier: Roland Cloud Manager has been completely revamped! In addition to a complete overhaul of the user interface, there’s a ton of new functionality that is both intuitive and informative. We’ve also updated the Concerto engine across all Anthology, Tera and FLAVR instruments with all new effects.

Roland Cloud manager now has 2 modes and runs in your system tray (or menu bar) mode, as well as in full application mode. While running as an application on your desktop, Roland Cloud Manager now provides quick access to relevant news and information in addition to allowing quick management access to your instrument library. While running in your system tray or system menu, Roland Cloud Manager continues to run background tasks like downloads, authorization, checking for updates and many other automatic tasks so that you don’t have to worry about them.

Several of the most commonly asked for features in Roland Cloud Manager are now a reality. For example, you can now set a custom path to store Concerto based instruments, including on external storage devices. Roland Cloud Manager also now allows you to update all instruments with a single click. Rather than having to redownload an entire instrument, binary patching for all Concerto based instruments allows quick and efficient updates. Members with expired subscriptions will now be able to log in to Roland Cloud Manager to see new instruments, news, and updates, although instrument access is still tied to a valid subscription or trial subscription. Even though it seems like a small feature, you asked for it: Roland Cloud Manager now provides the ability to pause syncing and downloading of individual instruments.

i am afraid they changed their security system too, so we will see if someone will be able to hack it . and if so , deliver it with the new stuff involved

Haven't checked yet if they changed protection, anyway it was a crap,
best they can get up with is crap v2.0.
Jokes apart, only change from release notes is this:
Roland Cloud Manager 2.0 introduces device tracking, in order to limit the number of devices a User can use with a single Roland Cloud License.

Before you could move the license file to other machines.

Roland is full of shit. So they want people to pay over and over and over the monthly subscription fee and now even limit the devices they can use.

Hell yeah! I hate this new trend of using subscription model for licensing,
like also slate and others. License for digital goods is already limited,
as you never actually own something, you only buy the right to use it.
In this case not even that.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure you just have to wait a few more days
to see them available with a much more acceptable licensing model.

Atleast you can buy perpetual license from Slate but if you want permanent Roland licenses you basically have to wait like ... forever. 1 license per year lol ... fuck them. Also every srx expansion counts as single unit.

I also don't like the whole bloatware concept of releasing one small shitty plugin after another just to make the whole subscription bundle big.

However there are some gems like the jv 1080 :)

Looking forward to the more acceptable licensing model you spoke of :)
