Inspired by the soundtrack by Gil Mellé to the 1971 cult sci-fi classic 'The Andromeda Strain', much sonic mileage can be attained from these samples through experimentation with the various microtape controls and effects.

Microtape 17 features a selection of over 115 glissando effects made with a marimba. Most of these have been looped, and vary in length. Both looped and un-looped nki's are included, with about two thirds of the samples played back at half speed (therefore an octave lower) at 3.75 ips.
