HY2ROG3N ... respect for all the work you do as well. I snagged SDRR when you uploaded it and it worked like a charm. Respect for sharing that, and keep up the work, ignoring the haters.

Good to see some crackers are still alive and kicking. Missing the crazy amounts of cracking we used to get, but respect to those who continue through everything thrown at them nowadays.

this would be a great product if it actually worked as advertised. but as the nfo file says: "Still bugy like the previous "PC" versions." motu used to be one of the best companies back in the 90s. but they just can't seem to make this daw stable.

Thank you Chaos and Horsemen Now I can check if in this version, you are still obliged to create 2 tracks to use a vsti
One for the midi and one for the vsti.

I like to try new daws

Billy Boo You'r probably right , this is the only DAW I had to read the manual to create a track with a vsti

VST using and management is Improved and corrected.
I've never used this but after checking the website and see all artists using that, I personally will test it.
I worked years with logic (pc), then Cubase and now Ableton live.

feels stable so far (10 min)

crashed. empty! project, just mocking around. undocking transport bar crashes the biotch. could repeat the crash few times with the same thing, undocking.

i really feel sorry for THOSE people who paid for this utter garbage. i would love to love it but it is fucking shite. interface is very sophisticated, i mean, not user friendly at all, looks like a space station's toilet with gadgets. how dare they to release this unstable shit. you know whats funny, it always crashed wheni undocked that thing, on 8.0.3 , .4 , and this. i'm a daw addict but now i have to say : THIS is PURE SHITE

I like Digital performer for its GUI, but IT's not ready for Windows yet...it is nice crash.

i used to use this daw years ago, but then 64bit came along and i had to switch, now i wouldnt trust my projects on it, only the popular plugins work (massive, sylenth etc..),they have a long way before i will stop using my current daw, and to think i used to tell people that dp was the best, get with the times motu, if not you'll be replaced, or just face the inevitable and yield to the boys who have it figured out

Actually its pretty stable on the Mac, but on my PC Complete rubbish
this should stay on the Mac Like Cakewalk Sonar will always be PC Only
Don't forget these Daws Strongly rely on the Frameworks to run Smooth, and Mac And PC
Use completely different Frameworks, and no Dll, Registry design on a Mac Either

DP8 is the worst bullcrap DAW in the history of computer music. Anyone that has another opinion is either a masochist or has not tried another DAW for comparison.

Its bugged, its complicated, it has no fast sample browser and this list can be continued until the internet is out of memory........

I feel sorry for people that actually use this DAW for work, they must be the same that vote for Obama..

NO AMP SIM KICKS ASS NOT EVEN EXTERNAL ONES LIKE AXE FX II AND KEMPER PERIOD.

They might be good for demoing and i say they are REALLY good for practicing at home on low volume with some decent sound (we couldnt do that before amp sims became availible)

BUT THATS IT!!
They dont kicks ass.

And nowadays when tube amps are fighting back and start to develop low wattage tube amps (someone even goes so low as to only 1 watt but i dont think that is gonna bring on the power tube sound and the dynamics you get when you go to say 5 or 6 on the volume knob on a 20 or more watts tube amp)

And i am pretty sure many guitarist will choose those instead (it have cross my mind also since i rather play on a REAL tube amp instead of a digital amp sim beacuse no mather what everyone say they still havent managed to get that tube sound YET.

It is so easy to just start the computer and my POD and start to practice instead of power up a tube amp and pedals wait for 3 min with standby on so the tubes get warm before you can hear anything (you can practice without ANY sound on an electric i do that when i watch TV but it is more FUN AND GOOD FOR YOUR SOUL to practice with a decent guitar sound that is close to what you have on stage.
Amp-sims are close but something i lacking in the sound that ONLY real tube amp can get atleast to this day maybe in the future they manage to do it.

(But you CAN use amp sims in a song beacuse ONLY the guitarist who record it will notice the different in the sound and feel and if the guitar tracks then are buried in the mix absolutely NO ONE will notice)

And hey since i now have a mac i will try those Logic amps as soon as i have install everything on my new machine but i am pretty sure they will sound axactly like all other digital amp sims..
