[obsolete] New Poll Regarding Mirrors. Please read!

Articstorm: the original uploader get a,lot of downloads first coz there is a lot user's here are not logging every minut to the site they are registred to the RSS feed of the site so they can't see mirrors or download so 40% of downloaders will download original uploader links, and later it will come to visitors of the site and visitors from search engines

No way, bro. In fact, this is the exact opposite from the SOPA; there is some REAL democracy here. SAiNT is doing a poll, asking people, and letting us say what we think. BEFORE.

yep here there is a poll, but the attitude underlying it is the very same that has inspired the SOPA...believeing in banning/preventing something so as to try and force people to do something they wont do anyway...because they can't or don't want to in the first place!

so it isnt the exact opposite at all...it's just slightly more democratic in the process....if mirrors are eventually forbidden for the sake of a few...where is the audio freedom audioz advertises in it's banner?...on other websites I reckon...

and as someone said, if uploaders were using proper mirrors there wouldnt be any need for more...what should be banned is the mirroring of files on hosts that have already been used by uploaders as this is clearly useless and disrespectful...but thats just my opinion

The SOPA argument is not the same because SOPA is trying to dissuade pirating of non-internet material: apps, music, movies, etc. A problem with copyrights. This is more of a patent problem, in which original developers are guaranteed to profit from their innovation. If no patent was in place, innovation would suffer because of instant copiers of the idea. Same with original posters, if no quarantee of income from links, how can you be sure these people will continue to upload? I suggest a grace period before mirrors are allowed to guarantee there will always be new material. Any other argument linking discussion to censorship or copyright is faulty. Guarantee some sort of "patent" time to encourage posts.

Same with original posters, if no quarantee of income from links, how can you be sure these people will continue to upload?

if you look around, you'll see that very very often it's just the very same links used over and over again...one dies.. they're all dead! lol

I don't really see a problem here, as most people download from the original uploader anyway... as many here pointed it out.

Use a real browser and block the ads that offend you.

I agree with burninstar about making smaller downloads for those who do not want premium accounts :)

There are 4 things that are common problems for MOST of us and i have a fair solution.

Problem 1) Everyone who has a premium account - all use a different provider!


Solution: Lets all vote to see which is the most popular, and have that provider to be our number one choice! - all posts must contain for example "http://uploaded.to/" as STANDARD! for the people who have (for example) - Rapidshare - keep using that account until your "contract" runs out and buy a "http://uploaded.to/" premium account - that way we will ALL benefit from it.

Problem 2) - The File is to big to download as a free user! what shall i do!!!!


Solution: It seems as most people have not pointed out "LETITBIT" and "SHAREFLARE" lets you download 2GB as a FREE!!! useri have downloaded bigger files than that for free (i don't even think there is a limit) so we should use them two as standard for big files for free users!

Problem 3) - your a free user - but you have to wait 30sec - 1 min or enter a captcha to download a small file.

Solution: Just upload it via Rapidshare! you do not have to wait it just downloads it straight away. P.s I understand some people want to make money but for you uploading it via http://uploaded.to/ allows people to just wait 30secs and download without the annoying captcha challange! downside is free users have to wait an hour after that! rapidshare would let them continue as a free users with no hastle!

one Last thing i do want to bring up is the dead links and posts situation!

I came up with a brilliant idea for us all! but the votes showed you did not want it... I do not understand why! I bet 30% of people did not even know what i was talking about, and was afraid of change!

I am of course talking about Direct Connectif you do NOT know what it is then do google it - to some it up - its a p2p program that we all use - that lets us connect to a private server - we all have a password - we can see who is online - and you can browse what i'm sharing if i have what your looking for you can get it off me.. think of it like an archive - downside of it is someone would need there computer on 24/7 to keep the server ALIVE and the slot situation

so to sum it up

1) Big Files for free users letitbit or shareflare
2) have a standard service for us for example -> (http://uploaded.to/)
3) Small files - rapidshare or any other site that allows you to download without a Challenge

and additionally use DC++ for an archive - just OLD posts - that way you would not have to keep uploading your old stuff.. Basically you could connect to someones external hard drive and access there "collection"

Im sorry I have written you all an essay!! i just want people to realize we are making things to complicated and it doesn't have to be this way!

I would love to hear back from someone who totally disagrees with my ideas above as I would want to hear your thoughts and opinions and we may come across some flaw, I have not yet thought about, and explore a better solution.

well i would ban some really crappy hoster like extabit - downloading stuff only as premium.
i always download from the orginal poster as long he has good hoster and its well splited.
when not im going for the mirrors.

people are opposed to mirrors because they want to "make their money back", what happened to "dont make money from warez", used to see it on every nfo, rule number one, simple as.

People want to buy something...fine.

want to share it....fine

dont want to share it....equally fine.

wanna make from it.....not fine, in fact that makes you a sleazy grubbing scumbag, leeching money from the work of those who really deserve it...i.e the original developers.


Hosters premium or otherwise.....uploaders should post these things wherever they choose, its up to them.

If you want a $1000.00 library and discover that its going to cost a few $$ or euros to get a prem account, your choices are simple.

1. buy the account
2. shrug your shoulders ,dont buy the account, move on.chances are the thing will be available somewhere else sooner or later.

Excuse me all for the offtopic answer, but i imagine the poor guy having a badtime at AudioZ (and we don't want this, right?)...

1) Install Mozilla FireFox
2) Install AdBlock Plus
3) Activate some filter subscriptions (the ones relative to the languages you use -- in my case, english & spanish)
4) You're done. No more ads. Verified... been using it for years!.

And 2 last tips:

1) Disable Flash as standard (just enable it manually for the exact webs where you actually need it)
2) Disable Java in your browser (also just enable it manually for the exact webs where you actually need it). Java is a well-known way of catching viruses and trojan through Java Trojan Droppers (it HAPPENED to me a while ago -- and I learned from that!).

...Annnd... learn what offtopic means and stick to the current topic in all threads.

I like mirrors , some of the older stuff, is up on a mirror,and I can put it together
without needing to request it again

I like to use my download manager,and find I only have trouble with uploaded.to because
it seems to rotate the links , so I need to go out and get a new link to download

I agree with toleypuss and his comments

I have contributed a few files and then looked to see how they spread on the internet
It seems to me that the files are almost instantly shared for download on other sites
I do not know if this is a bigger problem for the contributors, then the people who put
up mirrors on audioz

well one thing is for certain, we sure do have a lot of crybabies (probably OSX users - LOL), and some serious counterintel agents spamming some of the posts now, primarily those of strong sound. its getting ridiculous. these people are clearly starting to sound like feds or representatives of the respective organization.

i use also the download links mainly by the original poster - but when he is using only crappy hoster like turbobit, extabit, etc or is just to dumb to split it for free user that they can download im going always for the mirrors then.

me what I cant believe is that this very poll is being carried out...as I said before, we're reaching the bottom of the barrel here....we're even getting embedded in it! lol

in the beginning there was "Don't make money using warezed softwares and pirated material"

then a lot did ....and Teams disappeared....the "you do the job, but I capitalize on it" attitude

now ... we're wondering whether mirrors should be allowed (and that's the second time...how many more to make sure we really really really really want them??! is that the last word of the community or ...should we get a new one to make sure no one's cheated?...looool) so that uploader X who posts what he has stolen (as you quite aptly pointed out above) can make money and buy his daily ration of burgers ..

what i think is interesting about this issue pretty much revolves around one general identifier

* All of the uploaders here have been using various cyberlocker services and large files for quite some time. Sometimes the files are split, and others are not, which would require the downloader to purchase a premium account. * NOTHING NEW HERE. There has never been an issue until now. * All of a sudden, this GANGSTALKING like attitude manifested from a group of members regarding such. Some of the members have been registered here a while, and the others havent. * Most have made enough comments to appear to have established themselves as legitimate members. ** HOWEVER, this is traditional strategic counterintel operation activity. The legitimacy of the main users stigmatizing this issue are likely operatives for relational organizations or international agencies of legal power. * This shit is documented and known to occur on sites like these and others associated.

It has become apparent, that from here on out, it should be considered that anyone pursuing this issue any further than the legitimate non-biased facts, is an organizational agent/government operative. These are the people inflating the issue with bullshit by propagating false information/disinformation to no end
(eg: Imbibaphones & recent sonokinetic posts (as example), including this bullshit from bupper (as example) and many more which can be clearly identified throughout various posts) //not saying they are, but this is the type of disinfo I am talking about.

They are attempting to stop any and all activity on this site by turning everyone against the main contributors through disinformation tactics!

It starts with one contributor, then they will move on to the next!!! Do not let them succeed. End of story.
