2012, MegaUpload, FileSonic, FileServe, Uploaded... [almost] the end of the world

We are at the end of capitalism.
Like communism, it is a dead system.

The only question is : what can we do to NOT die with the system...and the question is going to be more and more important.

This is not a matter of just file sharing (not very important, if all files are gone, i use freeware), as you can see with the last subprimes world recession.
This is a matter of capitalists manipulations...

The last time it happened, it ended by World War II.
Because capitalism excess (like between 1918 and 1945) lead to populism, witch lead to fascism, with lead to war.

All banks don't care about giving money to construct the future or just giving it to build weapons and kill us all.
Capitalists don't care about making cars, houses or weapons of mass destruction.
Remember they can get a fallout shelter when they want...not you.
Remember a lot of cars makers where making tanks during WWII.

if there's any uploader here who dont care about the money but to share, use mediafire, best service ever, also i read something about the ceo, he says they will keep with their site, and uploader from megaupload are welcome

why not go back to this?

emule is not the answer: it was plenty of fakes and it permitted to trace your IP address (logistep, guardaley, who share, etc).

Me and my pro-audio friends protected our community 12 years ago, setting up BBS / FTP style with community encrypted client-server connection.

It's a huge effort in terms of bandwidth, admins time, hardware, but we own our infrastructure and we are still alive and protected.

I know that it's not really the brand new on-line storage way: we don't get revenues from pyramidal affiliate campaigns, nor from downloading, neither from uploading. But we get benefit from our mutual file sharing and we produce music (we either watch films :-) Then the G5 unix offers us the possibility to program little but useful utilities via web.

I am not too worried about this. There are still FTP and newsgroups for this, where most of us get what we want from anyhow. In a few weeks of month this will be history and new ways of "sharing media" will be founded. Just keep on posting releases and well we find the links ourself. That's what I personally do anyhow. Coming from the oldskool, I've always found what I wanted my way and not got it on a damned silver plate!
Why should "warez" be easy to find? It's good that the challenge to find has arise again. It's abit like when a Commodore 64 game was released. Man it took a few days before the crackers got it and yeah it sure took a few days before the crackers released a game. Then it had to be a trainer, hiscore saver, loader picture, dox and well to save space on a floppydisk, they sometimes used levelcrunchers to squeeze in two sides to one :)
NOW, that is what I call to the challenge.

Not to sound like the lavarock but sometimes it's just not to click on a link to get what you want... do it right do it from the beginning and see what I mean.

Newsgroups took a dive in popularity when the filehosting sites came around. Back to the originators in filesharing. Only thing that sucks about it is it costs money to be a member, and my ISP limits downloads monthly now.

dosent matter if what we do its wrong, "they" are just trying to get even more rich and capitalistic, dosent care if in the way destroy any kind of privacy or freedom. F@ck them, F@ck those big corporations.
I barily have for living, and the things i have download from this great site was 99 porcent for the pasion of art, making zero money.

Reading the posts here about capitalism shows me abundantly that you guys, especially pipo and klefths, haven't got a clue about what capitalism is.

Hollywood is not driven by capitalism. In order for an economic system to be called capitalist, there has to be competition and real money. Hollywood has virtually no competition and America like almost every other country today uses phony currency called fiat money. Both conditions (no competition and fiat currency) make it impossible for capitalism to exist. Hollywood is a MONOPOLY, just as the major corporations in the US are monopolies. You are bitching and complaining about monopolies, gentlemen. Capitalism is a good system but, as in the only correct sentence by Pipotron2000, it is dead. It has been dead since 1973 to be exact when then President Nixon took the dollar of the Gold standard. It is then that the dollar became a fiat currency.

Why are more people not using rapidshare now for uploads? It's expensive but seems more stable than some of the others.

U know...we should all do something to help fight against those laws...this is a shame what they are doing...If I bought something and want to share it with someone,why is that a CRIME?! Imagine going to jail sentenced to 20 years for sharing files on net and going in a cell with rapist or murderer...

As far as buying/sharing is concerned, you are not buying something tangible like a car. You are buying something that is instantly reproducible. So, instead of conferring ownership of the product on you, you are LICENSED by the software maker to use their intellectual property only; you do not become its owner. That is the big difference. If you share the software then you must duplicate it for which you are NOT authorized and that is explicitly stated in the EULA. Just by copying the software you are already in breach of the agreement and that makes it a crime. The fact that it doesn't cause physical harm is conveniently left unmentioned.

Copying and sharing of software is a transgression of copyright laws and of the user agreement with the software vendor so you are liable to pay reparations of you are caught.

Simple, huh?
