Today, out of nowhere, just like crap on one's shoe - our dearest friend Eddie Bazil, after almost one year of silence, started to send his ridiculous threats to me again.
Yes, it's a pure waste of my time, but I'd still like to give this for your amusement.

For those who is not aware, here's the first thread

Letter 1:
We spoke before, when I requested you remove my infringed content by you, whereby you plastered my private conversation with you all over your forum for public gain. Before I delve into what will happen next I would like to be able to answer in your forum all the allegations that have slanderously been made and kept online for no other reason than to gain favour and publicity for your company.

This thread:
/audio-lounge/36754-download_my-conversation-with-eddie-brazil-from-samplecraze.html

So, send me login details so I can answer your unfounded allegations and pls provide copies of the dialogue for legal reasons.

Feel free to register... but then, you'll be a part of community
but that won't matter i guess, since everybody already know you're using pirated software.

anyway, please stop bothering me with your threats.

Letter 2
There are no threats. This is so I can answer the slanderous content you
have uploaded. And especially regarding the so called pirated software.

What are you scared of?

Once this has been done then we can talk about the next step.

What you don't seem to realize is that you are not supporting a community,
you hide behind that, and you are afraid to allow me to answer the
accusations you have made in the event your users really know who you are
and what you do.

So, be brave, create an account in which I will post and then you will
confirm not to have it edited so all can see.

I have important information that I think your user-base should know about.
So, pls hiding behind the 'threat line. No one is threatening you, so kindly
publish this email to your forums for all to see and then allow me to expose
you for who you really are now that I have information about how you conduct
your business.

It's up to you. If you say no then it's not a problem. I will simply create
a page on my sites and write what I want to say in your forums.

So, since you hide behind your country's laws, why not allow me to really
say what is going on?

BTW, I know you love breaking the law but in this instance you have my blessing to upload this email to your forums.

- Since Eddie doesn't know how to verify his registration, I've created an account for him and send link to this thread.

...few minutes after:
so, where is the post or reply icon? all iu have is your usual diatribe and nothing more....

you are accusing me of threatening you on your front page?

so, where is the reply button then?
attached screenshot

It's not a forum :) to reply, simply post your comment using the form and press Submit:
http://en.zimagez.com/zimage/capture-1407.php
you'll have to split your comment on two parts if it's too big (you'll see a warning).

...I've decided to move Eddie's post from the forum directly into the post, so here we go:

Eddie Bazil:
For those of you that are berating me here without knowing any of the facts, well, read on.

I am a one man business and I write books that are screened and published for content. I also write for magazines, so all my content is scrutinized and verified. Someone mentioned that using a cracked piece of software in a book would be tantamount to stupidity. Of course it would, and it would also make the publishers look stupid and open to litigation.

You are all accusing me, based on Saint's appalling publication of my private email request for him to remove infringed content and the screen capture of the timeworx compressor in my book.

Well, any of you that actually work in this industry will know that the following is very common. Additionally, I implore you to contact the owner of Timeworx, a very close friend of mine and someone who is currently coding my vsti. But then again I am sure he likes being ripped off and then re-employed by the person who has ripped him off huh?

When I write a book I try to endorse small businesses like myself. Michael, who created Timeworx (which BTW is being incorporated in my latest VSTI), is such a person. I contacted him a long time ago to use his products in my books. He sent me the Timeworx as a NFR (pls feel free to contact him and verify this). I used his plugin but, as with a number of plugins at the time of the Win 2000 to XP changeover there were stability issues. Michael and I had little time to resolve this so I contacted Nitro and one or two other companies re the cracked version. We found that some cracks actually were considerably more stable than the released version because they were stripped down of all unnecessary reg codes. In fact, when I was sound designing for Emu/Ensoniq we had the same problem with the first version of Emulator X. It was buggy as hell and the crack was far more stable and the version that 4 of us sound designers used to create the sound libraries.

The Nitro crack was available through a company who stole Michael's products and packaged them as the Millenium Pack. Michael went out of business because of the amount of rips he had to endure, something I have to deal with every day and with the type of people who you all hail as your saviors: people who steal content and then offer it to their user-base for glorified thanks, people like Saint, companies like Audio Z.

I contacted Michael quite a while back to find out if he had pursued with Timeworx and if he had a 64 bit version available for Win 7. He informed me he had left the site running but had ditched the products, and this was back in 2006. My heart sank as he is such a nice guy and has a family to support and the rips simply killed his business, the same as is happening to us small businesses.
Michael and I are hoping we can create a well priced Vsti that does not get so heavily cracked. Hell, I sell my Kontakt modules for $8 each. How cheaper do I need to get for people to stop ripping it?

I am not implying you guys use cracks, far from it. Just some of the threads here have admonished me because people assumed I used cracks. If anything, I do the exact opposite and endorse small companies and make sure they get as much exposure as possible. This is evident in my latest article for Sound On Sound magazine and follow ups for Music Tech etc..

We, as small entities, cannot absorb rips. We are just too small to pay for protective systems, PACE, iLoks and the like. Even Rob Papen, one of my closest friends and someone who I knew from years and years ago at Emu has dropped support and development for Albino due to the amount of piracy he has had to endure. I made sure all my students bought Albino, I used Albino in my books and specifically in my latest book on Effects, and I even created a library to support the product for Rob. This is what we do but you guys don't know about it simply because you are not at our end of the industry, the beck-end, the technical end.

Additionally, and something some of you will have noticed, Ultrafunk who made wonderful plugins and were used in my book also went under due to piracy as did Blue another company I used to try to help promote. We simply cannot endure piracy. We are all small companies trying to earn a living.

I could have gone down the litigation route with this forum and Audio Z but chose to respond here as Saint simply refuses to print any of my emails on his site in response to his allegations.

I implore you all to kick back, check and validate your accusations, and then think about who is really screwing who.

Sites like Saints exist on a number of criteria. I suggest you all follow his paper trail to find out what he really does to earn money from his 'community forum and site'.

In the interim, I would greatly appreciate this thread being removed as it is indexed in Google and is causing harm to me and my company. I have requested the same from Saint but he prefers to keep it on his site as it indexes his company on page 1 of Google only because of the private dialogue between him and I being exposed for his personal benefit.

I leave the rest up to you but advise that maybe you need to ask questions from Saint and his personal 'entourage' before making unfounded accusations, particularly ones that have been continually answered to but never published.

I'll let you decide why Saint wouldn't allow me to respond in his forums as I have here.

Thanks you
Zukan

well, it's obviously very sad, but if you ask me - it's also very rightly.
if your goal is to make art, then you shouldn't care about how much you loose or how much you earn - it's not the point (recommended to read);
the point is to be proud of people who used your stuff to create art, and realize that you're a part of that art.

and if your goal is to make money on people who make art, then you're clearly not an artist - you're a businessmen; therefore, what the fuck are you doing in this industry?

that's the problem with this world nowadays...

I think i'm an artist. Even though i earn for living by doing something i don't want to do, I still do art, because there is no other way my soul would survive without expressing it.

Although i'm not setting myself as example, I believe that it is the true characterization of an artist and why artists does what he does.

Of course selling software is great and any work should be paid;
I'm only saying that you chose a bad way of doing your business.

I'm sorry but i can't remove it. Information should be free, and you, as a man, should think before you saying something.

I gave you a chance to explain yourself, spend my time to help you.
I hope you'll understand.

In direct response to Eddy:

Do you TRULY beleive that the vast majority of visitors to sites such as AudioZ would purchase the softs if they were not available here?

Sites such as AudioZ give amateurs, those wishing to dip their toes into music production, a chance to see whether or not it is for them. The argument that demo`s fulfil this need presupposes the amateur has 30 days in which to learn and fully understand a complicated piece of software.

Those who take production no further will either delete the softs or else just have them taking up space on their hard drive. Those who find production to be a viable pass time, in MOST cases, will buy the softs in order to benefit from updates, etc. Regards books, I personally find it preferable to own a physical copy although I admittedly have none of yours in my collection.

To attack SAiNT personally makes no sense: Supply and Demand. I also find your vehemence towards SAiNT somewhat hard to fathom as he has never done more than share your correspondences with us, his community.

And the truth shall set you free.

no That's a pure lie!! MR.Rob Papen has probably ended support + development for ALBiNO because he has obviously new projects in mind = new products to launch and sell on the market. Everybody knows that it's a strategy of developers to catch the attention of potential new customers.

You know what? A real serious developer doesn't fix his attention on Piracy, because it's a REAL waste of time and money. Like an artist may do you should concentrate on developing instead of hunting "ghosts and witches".

Shastra,

Saint did not remove the content and said 'since you are being rude....' and then proceeded to publish private dialogue between us but being very selective in what is disclosed.

I have no desire to even be here but when the accusation of me using pirated software came up, well, I had to and have to answer and defend that and I canno0t go any further than tell you who the developer is, to contact him and to remove the slanderous thread. Surely, you understand that?

Kookaboo,

It is not a lie and I would love it, same as before, if you contacted Bob directly. I have emails here from him saying exactly what I wrote. If he provides any sup[port for Albino it is to existing customers and not because he has a new range. You forget, or don't know, he was already developing Punch and Predator to add to his range, not replace. Why on earth would someone want to do that when he had spent so much time and money developing a fantastic product.

Saint,

I really don't thyink you understand the concept of art and business. If I was a businessman I wouldn't even be responding here. I take these kinds of things personally. My products are my art. I spend a lot of time creating products that are different to others.I have been sound designing and writing books for years now. So, pls, don't insult me. You have created absolutely nothing and therefore do not understand the losses we face.
You have also been very selective in what you say to your members and you have done everything you can to humiliate me. Why? Because I wanted my infringed content removed.

And you call yourself an artist?

all very well said... damn

hmmm... as far as the spongy thang in me skull tries to recall, there is one very simple way to make requests regarding content from, made by, one's company, on this site, also there is the list, containing companies' names who did take their time to read about this possibility, then made use of it, succeeded in their requests' fullfilment, being their decisions respected by all here... hmmm... dunno damn

keep up the good work, all the best for all of us (included is Eddie Bazil, who has, as one legitim user, became one of us)... yes keys

Pilz971,

You are the only one who has hit it on the nail.

This type of site is the type I should not accept any understanding from and should simply believe it to be a pirate site peppered with some advice.

You are right. Sites like these, instead of supporting small developers actually kill us. If you supported us we would happily come in here and offer help and advice.

I understand what you are saying and you are right: I shouldn't even be here. BUT, what Saint did in terms of publishing our private dialogue was wrong but it wasn't even that that upset me as I hadn't responded in a year. BUT, Google indexes forum posts and the accusation of piracy is extremely serious and there for all to see. If I did pirate content then bless you all for revealing it and I wish everyone else would. But when someone defends themselves and asks the thread to be deleted but it isn't simply because the administrator wants more exposure out of it, well, that's just plain nasty and illegal as it is slanderous.

I then responded in that specific thread and Saint removed it citing to koeep it here even though he had allowed it to be moved to another forum.

Surely you can see my predicament?

I can bring Bob, Miochael and anyone else here to defend me but it is pointless. Em,ail them, ask them if you will, but FFS delete the slanderous thread because I am not rich and do not have the money to litigate but with something like this I will not stop. You are damaging my business and reputation with lies. An accusation has been made and I copurteously defended it without hiding a single thing. I don't know what else I can do.

What happened to all my other responses that were visible a minute ago?

that is not true. i don't need to humiliate you, and even if i would, i couldn't do it better than what you've done yourself.

Why? Because I wanted my infringed content removed.

don't be ridiculous! so many developers write abuses every day, and none of them have any problem with me.

you've made an idiot of yourself by threatening me, my members and insulting everybody who has anything to do with AudioZ. that is why you are here - so people would know.

Anyways, Pilz is right and I shouldn't be here.

Saint, do the right thing and delete the slanderous thread in the Audio Sex forums. I have no problems with this debate continuing in my absence. I would also implore you all to contact both Michael and Rob, both of which just emailed me.

everybody knows in pro market every one (90%) buying the original ! no abuse happening here ! if u are right why lots of small and big company is still alive ! actually we rip they site :D their everything ! but they still alive and selling !
your world is nonsense!

in other case many people just do ART as hubby ! they dot really release anything ! and many of them came here and dl cracky soft !!!!!

Ok, so let me make sure I have the story correct...

1) Eddie Bazil sends cease and desist type thing to Saint...
2) Saint ceases and desists...
3) Eddie Bazil threatens Saint multiple times with legal action... (i think because of something on google, right?)
4) Saint giggles and calls Eddie Bazil out for using warez in his book...
5) Eddie explains that since he knows the guy who made the original VST that that makes it ok to use the warez... Eddie also admits that the vst before it was ware-ized (just made it up) was crap and was made better by having the junk code removed by crackers...
6) Now Eddie wants Saint to remove all traces of his confession because it will do harm to his business... Is that about right???

AudioZ is NOT gearslutz.com, where all sorts of arrogant, selfish and hypocrite "PRO's" gather! They're oh' so honest....never using any pirated software(???). Bloody boot-licking liars!! The truth is that the big developers are crushing the small, because they shoot with bigger cannons. To flatten out the situation and to bring more justice into the game we have to dismantle the structures of power. yes dance

"Ultrafunk who made wonderful plugins and (...) also went under due to piracy"

Yes, and this is why they became much more known so at the end Cakewalk bought them!.

About Timeworks:

As I was told by Deepz0ne (the star cracker in the old Radium age and a long-time personal friend of mine), the coder at Timeworks asked Deepz0ne to design a new protection [he had easily cracked the previous one] for a next version of the Timeworks plug-ins. The aswer was a "no-no".

Mmmhhh... how does it look trying to get people from the "dark side", the same "dark side" they heavily critizice...?

Let the one completely free of guilt throw the first stone!.

No stones thrown... OF COURSE.

@ Eddie

TBH, I'm only half aware of the original exchange between you and Saint, and I can assure you though that I have never downloaded anything by you. As far as I'm aware Saint will 'blacklist' developers, particularly the smaller ones, if they ask for it.

I like it when producers come over to a forum dedicated to piracy and give us a piece of their mind. I really do. They should all come here. Be it you, Hollow Sun, D16, Waves, NI, etc. I'm serious. There should be far more debate, but then I say that as somebody who comes from a time when piracy was more of a game (C-64 days). I'm well aware that it has since become an industry. One which I don't particularly like, as I prefer the pub to the stadium. yes

But kudos to you for braving the flames. My appreciation of Eddie Bazil the person today has grown. You should have done this from the start, probably. wink

I think the only thing gained here is that you lot justify theft with art. I have rarely heard such nonsense. I know for a fact that Picasso, Rolling Stones, Salvador Dali, Armin, Tiesto and just a few million others all stole and made their art for free. Yeah right.

So Saint, do you provide your design and resource services for free?

It's sad that you lot actually believe your own lies. You even protect Saint and yet none of you know how he earns money from these sites. Ask him and be enthralled.

M2314,get the right order then come back with something sensible to say.

1. E.Bazil request cease and desist which BTW is a military term that we don't often use when filing DMCAs but hell, let's make it exciting huh.
2. Saint ignores him
3. E.Bazil states that the content MUST be removed
4. Saint, in all his wondrous thieving glory, says 'if that is your attitude then I won't help you'
5. E.Bazil reports Saint's thieving to ISP
6. Saint removes infringed content and publishes email dialogue to gain favour with the members he's actually screwing but they don't know it because he steals, provides the stolen content for free, then charges for subscriptions and advertising whilst boosting his ranking.
Members don't know this because they are so loyal to the thief they actually believe whatever he says and yet he charges for his services and makes money out of his sites, BUT isn't he meant to be an artist providing free services? Nope, he's a common thief and you are all supporting him.
8. Eddie has nothing to confess about as he has defended himself and even asked that members contact the developer in question. Wow, he must be lying...unlike Saint.

BTW Lord Gaga, I am not Adobe and I have no protection systems in place. In fact, and the reason why you lot are actually lying to substantiate your thefts, I provide my products with free samples and even free modules so the user can test at will and see if it is worth buying. So, that kinda put your argument to bed no? Much like a lot of developers I know. Most of them provide complete working trials with lots of extras, and you guys still have to thieve their content with ludicrous claims about art and third world countries.

Kookaboo, you need to stay off the shrooms man, you speak such crap it's almost funny.

The hypocrisy of this is that you all started by claiming to 'support' the small developer and yet you thieves crush us. You want to help small developers: buy our products and keep us in business.

As for Saint, well, if one of you could grow a pair and ask him where he earns his money from, not that artistic nonsense about resources and designs which 'he charges for', but about his website and forum income streams. Then ask him where his servers are located and why.

C'mon guys, keep it coming. This is fun.
