I can honestly say that the only way i am still able to make music is because of teams like R2R and all the people who contributed to this work.

So,i know it's not exactly the try before buy mentality to use this software for actual releases, but the music world has changed a lot in the past decade.

Small underground releases don't bring enough cashflow to warrant buying any gear, let alone software, they can hardly even cover the costs of print & distribution.

We live in a world where people have no issues with paying 5$ for a coffee that took 2 minutes to make and will give them 15 minutes of enjoyment, but refuse to spend 1$ for a track that possibly took months to make and will last them a lifetime.
It's because of this somewhat weird mentality born from the post-napster internet-age that music should be free and accessible to everyone, almost like a basic need such as water or air.

Part of me agrees with it, because the big greedy old evil music industry has been checkmated, but in reality this means that it's also becoming unsustainable for independents to keep producing.

So in a very direct way, it's the work of teams like R2R that keep the underground music scenes alive!

Cheers guys, even though you are hidden behind the scene, take a measure of pride of what you guys are enabling us to keep doing.

I hope all of you appreciate the tremendous gifts R2R are giving you, i think things are about ready to go in a really REALLY good way for a lot of you, and I know nothing but whispers, but ANYONE who wants to question their commitment/ability/and craft,

...well, they are going to have to rethink that position.

Competency runs high over there at R2R and their respected affiliates.. If saying that makes me a "fanboy", I will take that on the chin every damn day... because it's that hard and clever work of these people that make it possible for so many of us to do or at least try and do what we want to do.

We are extremely lucky... and I have no idea if R2R and the other credible teams read these comments, (probably not, too busy making the world better for the ingrates! :)).. .... so if you harbor ANY doubts... well, I think those are going to be squashed quickly...

Thank you NVTHH for creating this thread, it can only help, especially after recent events that made the "deities" decide to turn their heads to the masses... I am not part of any TEAM, but respect and have friends that are. I am NO ONE. But it is really nice to see members here and from other places show sincere generosity for the shares, and in the process we have witnessed people whose lives have been changed by them. From recovering addicts, to frustrated broke musicians (all of us:)), to those that have had a very tough time lately in regards to health, family, and survival. All respect to the devs, and that's why the policy here seems to be TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, and if you read the .nfo's kindly supplied in these, they all aim to help the dev's, and show respect. This community can exist in a gray area, but I hope we all know what the right thing to do is, and who to thank and reward for it. Devs like Valhalla, soundDust, Xfer, AudioDamage etc.. (many more), these people deserve your money if you use it, because they ask for so little, and are completely fair.

There are crap bags of devs out there that are not. and are ridiculous. So be it.

I know that if I depend on someone else's work, then I owe them, and do the best I can to pay for it at the end of the day. I am also so happy that I have not been burnt as much as I have in the past thanks to sites like this and a couple friendly others.

But you thought Christmas came early? I think you minds are going to be blown.

All respect to everyone, as I hope everyone and their families are safe, happy, creative, and feel the love of a community, that can, at it's best.... do the right things.
..grateful for HEXWARS, R2R, SYNTHiC4TE, CASHMERE & ALL teams, AZ crew past and present, and friends I have met here . RIP and LOVE to Olymoon and his family.

Thanks Cav Emp!

It's great for the Windows crowd what is happening now, I am so happy for you guys.. And more doubly happy of the fact that this was kept under wraps is great considering the last few weeks.. salute! A few knew, and those few didn't blow the surprise to be ruined for the TEAMS...

So yet ANOTHER big round of thanks should be coming...:)

and all your points made below cavemp are right on....

I've said a few times that 30 days is not nearly long enough to know what DAW is for you - only to know what DAW is NOT for you.

Likewise, I have spent a relatively short time with electronic music, but my growth has been accelerated by sheer dedication and long hours. Over the course of that time my preference of plugins has changed multiple times from... things that other people like, to things I think I like, to things that fit me.

I could never have learned this quickly without R2R and the other hard working teams giving me access to all the requisite tools to learn the subtle differences. Now I'm competent enough to really appreciate how cool they are, and that's a neat feeling too. In the spirit of the scene at its best, and as my financial situation improves, I'm beginning to buy the things I use and all too happy to support the developers and have that good faith ownership connection with my tools.

I'm just rambling about myself now though. Thanks so much for everything. I picked up music again in my darkest time and couldn't have dreamed of buying the stuff when I started out. How wonderful that there are people who make this possible for others.

Get over yourself man. You talk like you're so hard, bad mouthing R2R and other teams, but what have you brough to this community that is valued? Absolutely nothing. Just silly mouthing off. I bet you don't know the first thing about reversing. Go stick your arrogant attitude where the sun don't shine.

When I was starting in this business, all I had was a crappy computer, slow internet and folks like Paradox. Decades have pass and now I can make a living of my music, buy most stuff I use and still live by the "Try before you buy" motto. Thanks R2R, Saint, the new people from AudioUtopia, and everyone involved in keeping the scene alive!
