It’s fair to say that these days Peavey might not be the first brand on anyones lips when it comes to high-end tube guitar amps, but back in 1992 Peavey teamed up with guitar icon Eddie Van Halen to create the now iconic Peavey 5150. A monster amp with enough gain to satisfie even the most demanding of high gain players. Our amp is the highly sought after “Block Letter” version of the 5150. There were two versions, the “Signature” which featurered Eddie’s signature under the power LED, which is said to be a little harsher than the Mk1 or Block Letter with the solid black EVH under the power LED. Here we give you 11 amp captures of this amazing and these days highly collectable amp. Everything from the low gain “clean” of the Rhythm channel. Through the Bright and Crunch tones all the way up to the super cranked gain of the Lead channel via the High Gain input. This amp is far from a high gain one trick pony but that said, who buys a 5150 for it’s clean tones?

Acceleration - Dynamic Filter

Chris Johnson has lots of great plugins, freeware and open source. One, which I like and used a lot, is Acceleration. Great for taming fret noises of bass guitar, fingernails on acoustic guitar, cymbals etc. I just copy & pasted the main part of the open source code and added GUI, metering, improved Mix parameter, Inverse action switch and dither On/Off switch. It sounds the same as the original, but I prefer to have some animation on the screen, I hope some of you will find this usable also.

Crunchrr is a really simple to use effect that adds digital artifacts to your sounds.

It works by modulating a small fractional delay line at an audio rate at high frequency, resulting in a bit crush/sample divide/erosion kind of effect. Digital Crunch- Add subtle digital bitcrush-like distortion to your sounds or turn them into a complete noisy mess. Modulator Types - Choose from a variety of modulator types (noise, bandpassed noise, sine, square, triangle, saw) with a wide range of frequencies, from 0.1 Hz up to 22 kHz. Stereo Width - crunchrr can create subtle stereo widening by offsetting the phases of the modulators for left and right channels, or you can make the modulators mono if you'd like
