The P821 signature sound is very open and has a large sonic character, as there is very little electronics and zero transformers in the tape machine, making the sound stage massive and no aggressive compression or clamping down. This is the first plugin of its type where you’re actually hearing TAPE and how it reacts. Now, hearing the P821 MDN Tape plugin recreates that same experience. The degree of coloration and the overall sound, including the early reflections, depends heavily on the internal reverb delays. The plug-in has various carefully tuned delay settings pre-installed. However, it allows you to create your own delay/reverb templates, which can then be used in the presets. A complex network between the delay lines ensures that the delays do not have to be perfectly adjusted to sound good.

Chris Johnson has lots of great plugins, freeware and open source. One, which I like and used a lot, is Acceleration. Great for taming fret noises of bass guitar, fingernails on acoustic guitar, cymbals etc. I just copy & pasted the main part of the open source code and added GUI, metering, improved Mix parameter, Inverse action switch and dither On/Off switch. It sounds the same as the original, but I prefer to have some animation on the screen, I hope some of you will find this usable also.
