TAL-BassLine-101 is a monophonic bass synthesizer and a very accurate emulation of the popular SH 101. The GUI is intuitive and easy to use. It produces the raw sound you know from analogue devices without any effects. Its 24dB zero feedback delay low pass filter has a very smooth and authentic sound without any digital artifacts, especially designed and calibrated for extreme settings. It sounds even smooth with a lot resonance and a high oscillator pitch where most emulations fail. Details as envelope transitions between overlapping notes are carefully modeled. The oscillators do not use any samples. TAL-BassLine-101 generates all wave-forms in real time. Filter-FM allows it to choose an oscillator waveform as modulation source for the filter cutoff. This additional feature can be used to create a wide range of new sounds.

As with other Cubase plug-ins, the parameters of the Surround Panner window can be automated. Activating the Write button for a particular channel means that any changes made within the Surround panner are recorded and will be reproduced during playback if the channel Read button is activated. This includes movements of the panning ball, Centre Level slider or LFE slider. However, if you're inclined to move sounds around within the surround field, editing the resulting automation data can require some patience.

The Lobby Piano is a small grand piano in a lobby. I chose 10 different styles and techniques from the original recordings. As nothing was recorded chromatically I had to construct the samples for each of the 10 techniques with sound design trickery. Each of the 10 techniques is now “recorded” in triads for a chromatic range with 4-5 velocity layers, no round robins.
