Thanks for the post.

Extremely basic but could be useful for newbies if the packs were attached.

Terrible that whoever uploaded this didn't include the actual midis that come with the pack.

I think if Sunny had them, he would have included them. Even on the Udemy web site or in the video tutorials, no mention is made of download links. This must be a straight video rip.

Besides, it's really very basic and you can see whet the packs entail in the vids: you can find much better and much more complete ones here on Audioz.

Is that the full extent of your eloquence? Not impressed.

For the benefit of others, Unison MIDI packs are great and the stuff from BusyWorksBeats is fantastic (look for their music theory, chords and melody packages, like Chord Magic and several other packages that are a mix of packs and FL Studio tutorials). You'll find most of them here and the others (all in fact) are worth buying.

Since this is considered very basic/newbie, can anyone provide me with some that are the next step up or so?

Personally, I would use Busy Works Beats tuts not only as a start, but as guides as your knowledge expands. Not affiliated to them in any way: I just think that they are very good.

There are a number of plugins and standalone applications that can also help with composition (chords, melodies), although I would say that your ultimate goal is to use those tools for inspiration and shortcuts, but to make compositions your own by tweaking them in your DAW. In the end, you won't be using those tools so much but writing your own chord progressions and melodies from scratch.

Finally, depending on what DAW you are using, there are plenty of of construction kits and project files on this site that you can spend hours picking at to understand how things are done. It's a messy process but it really teaches you a lot when you have "reverse engineered" such projects.

To start with, have a look at Plugin Boutique Scaler and the various plugins from feelyoursound (Sundog is standalone, others are VST plugins). WA Production InstaChord and InstaScale are probably worth a look too. There are more, but you have to start somewhere. Some people swear by those tools, some people hate them: my personal take on them is that they can be useful learning tools and inspiration kick-starters, but that you should also learn to compose from scratch, step by step.

For further questions, post on Audiosex. People are very generous with their comments and suggestions, if you haven't already experienced it.

wait a second... people buy chord packs and melody packs?... that's the saddest f'ing thing i have ever heard in my life.

Samples I get... but packs that include chordd progressions... if you feel you arent pretending and playing make-believe in a treehouse as a "musician".. then good-God
I finally can tune a drum set
