Equalizers are one of the most useful tools in the audio engineers arsenal. Correct equalization techniques can dramatically improve a mix while incorrect techniques can literally destroy a mix. Its ver easy to get carried away and lost in a mix with the misuse of this tool. Knowing how to approach a mix correctly with equalizers can help simplify the entire process and allow for much better results. We designed this video collection to give the viewer a greaterunderstanding into the use of EQs.
While the main focus of these videos is to teach a MUSICAL understanding into the use of equalizers, we also explain the type ofEQs, filters and designs. Many audio examples are given with direct comparisons between tools and techniques.

We also work directly on a mix using several different EQs while the engineer explains the process. We examine the importance of various frequencies and demonstrate how they work together. The final result is not only a deeper understanding into the use of equalizers but also a better understanding of how they all sound and respond to music differently.
