I only wish this book would turn me into JP.
The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem.

We probably need more than a book for that. But we can learn a lot from him.

Can you please elaborate. What reader are you using to view the epub? I'm using Sumatra and it is not showing embedded audio files. Thanks.

I open it with iBooks. The audio examples are above the printed music/tab examples. The first two are on page 12.

Thanks, so you are using a Mac? I'm on Windows. I found a Chrome App (Readium) which supports embedded audio. Thanks once again for your help.

Does anyone have another eBook reader recommendation that supports embedded audio? I've tried Calibre, Freda and Overdrive without success.

google Chrome App (Readium) works for windows.

Thanks for the recommendation, unfortunately I don't and never have used Chrome. Unless I'm mistaken, Radium is available only as a Chrome add-on?

Edit: it would seem Readium is available as a standalone but it's stuck in the Alpha stage. It also seems that to be able to play embedded audio, we need an epub reader that supports the epub 3.0 or higher standard. There seems to be a lot of readers out there with bare bones features. One that I've found for Windows at this time is AZARDI. And ePUB Reader Firefox extension by Savina. This has a dark mode but is a newer product and hopefully will continue to be developed.

Any other suggestions for a standalone (or at least support for Firefox) ePub 3 reader that's doesn't look like an alpha or beta product?

What do you think of this one?

Generally speaking, you could try a search on the ms store, 'cause i found many epub readers, some very old, other more recent. Of course i'm speaking about free apps. But before DL, i suggest that you read the advises / reviews, because some apps can be very disappointing (some have even adds included!).

The one i suggest above (freda) seems OK and recent (EDIT: i just tried it, it have adds on its front page.. ...but NOT when you read an ebook (you could try to use it offline?). It is also much more configurable that all the other ones i found, you can really change anything (the colors, the fonts, there's a LOT of settings. Overall, despite the adds, i like it).

You could also try this older one, i don't like the interface (the overall look) but it really works.

Last ones: concerning plugins for firefox, try to go here and make a choice based on the reviews.

EDIT: I personally choosen this one.

I like Freda, but its not ePub 3 compatible and won't play the embedded files. I picked Calibre over Freda only because of better mouse wheel scroll behavior. Otherwise they're both very good. But for ePub 3/embedded audio after trying several poor to mediocre readers, I've settled on MS Edge for now. It plays the embedded files and has a dark mode.
