Mostly a bunch of ads and basic tips for those who may be new to approaching mix-downs. Nothing "Top-secret" about any of the techniques shared. Just a clever marketing ploy to sell more magazines.

You also need to have a digital copy of the magazine at hand to access the content for each magazine because to gain access to the relevant content you need to answer questions, and the answers to those questions are on certain pages of the magazines in question, so as long as you have the digital or physical version of the mag to hand then you can get the content for free.

Well... rather a borrower, because I deeply believe in your sincerity and especially in the fact that as soon as you'll return to better profit ... you'll definitely buy all the Editions of your favourite Music Magazines, isn't ?!?

I have periodically read Computer Music since it first came out, and it's always the same stuff re-hashed, never going into enough detail and never going too far beyond basic stuff that everyone knows.

It's basically a magazine filled with adverts, and a few basic repetitive music tech related articles each month. Although Sound on Sound does not focus mainly on electronic music, it does tend to go beyond the basics, and always has new interesting stuff in there.

I'll download the computer musics to see if there is anything new to learn, but generally there isnt unless you are just starting out, and it's not worth the money most of the time.

The other problem I have with Future Music (same company), and Computer Music is they have used the same sample creators for all free samples.

They task all their sample creators to chip in and make a sample pack for the theme they are doing each month, and quite frankly some of them are absolutely awful at their non-native genres. Drum and bass for example is not the best genres for 'Cyclick' 'rachMiel' and 'Richard James' why they have got them to make drum & bass samples over the years is a mystery, because they are not capable of making decent usable samples for this genre, it's not their natural genre, and you can tell they are not accomplished at it.

So instead of being cheapskates, it'd be better if they actually used producers that know the genres they are creating for, then they might increase the quality of their product. Admittedly the people mentioned do create some good samples, just not in certain genres, where it's clear it's not a genre they know well.
