There's only so much you can learn from these while the songs continue to be super simplified, often sparse, shat-pop or EDM.

MWTM should use some older (better) songs with full arrangements, rock songs, older pop songs etc. The earlier MWTM's were so much better because music was actually decent back then (the early Tchad Blake vids for example).

These days the videos typically amount to 'here's an annoying and overly done vocal laid over - too loud - on this minimal beat with some really cheesey soft synths'... nobody needs to see how THAT was done...

...come mix some of the stuff we have to deal with, that's where your skills will really shine. A kid could mix this stuff these days.
