AdFree Sound on Sound screenshot

The first incarnation of this post was lost in the crash of March 6. Since then I optimized the three issues I originally posted.
Besides removing each nearly 1.5 MB advertisement I added active links to each article at the index; You no longer have to search through the file.

I really don't like radio commercials that last forever, do you? In the US a popular talk show is just 32 minutes long, with a short 5 minute news cast the remainder of the hour consists solely of annoyingly loud commercials.
In similar vein magazines are riddled with advertisements interrupting interesting articles.
Sound on Sound magazine is no exception. At least one third of SOS is just advertising. With the print issue one has no choice, grin and bear it and pay up.
But the digital edition can be edited. The dark advertisments in this magazine add a very significant and redundant "weight" to the publication that few want on their hard drives, me thinks except for some geeks who have nothing better to do than to ogle commercials. :)
So, I went ahead and deleted every single advertisement except for SOS's own promotional DAW magazine blurb and this reduced the files by nearly 45% each.

I have now optimized the October, November and December 2010 issues as well.
Because I deleted full page advertising outright there will necessarily be missing pages. Other pages that had mixed content will show portions of white space. Despite the missing pages, the links in the front index all work as they should; they were created after the deletions.
For the first time readers can appreciate how much advertising they really buy when they purchase a hard copy of a magazine. To show that in annoying detail, I have deleted the advertising from the November issue but NOT removed the pages. Flipping through this issue will soon annoy you to death and hopefully bring home the convenience of "AdFree." :)

Enjoy!

Pass is always the same. If you don't know it, PM me. I will not post it here anymore because too many files get deleted too fast on the other file hosts because uploaders make it easy for them to do so.
