This serie is all amazing like "The 1970s Bass Play-Along Volume 31" in which have dozens of good examples.

But if you use this book you really should look for the original songs, as all the demo tracks and play along ones, are badly played with a total lack of "groove", it's all too squared. So if you really want to get the funk, listen to the originals.

The song Higher Ground (written by Stevie Wonder) , here is showed as the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS version, which is the least funk you could do with this song.
Beside the original version, you can listen to Fourplay version which is slow and jazzy, but still keeps the groovy side, thanks to Nathan East, and Harvey Mason.
