[dead] Sonic Academy Mastering [DF + TB]

I was also like WTF when I saw it. But these tips are really helpful. Hope this will cure a few Obsessive Waves Addiction Syndrome cases. Mastering is unnecessarily complicated IMO.

one thing, mastering is a job... if you would like to do a home mastering i recommend to see "Mixing Electronica with Olav Basoski" and some tips and tricks... i think you learn more than this short explanation of a small effect chain basics...

Learn EQ and Compression... that's the most important thing...

Mix with great monitors and sub-monitors for some really sub adjustment...

if you'll trust your ears and are a great mixer, i think you don't have difficulties to find label records... :)

Do your balance with your kick reference at 0db on your mixer if you produced electronic music...

When you'll do the job... label records most want a -6db flat master (no multiband compression at output when you bounce...)

and the label make his mastering... most of the time...

if not take olav advise... or a linear EQ, a multiband compression (or ultramaximizer), maybe a stereo tools like a widener and bounce !

if vinyl take advise of olav it's not the same as CD, some adjustment in Low end...
