On the version I have downloaded it tells me to block access to activation.sonarworks.com
updates.sonarworks.com
analytics.sonarworks.com

How do I do this on Mac?

Does anyone know how to get around the Systemwide app starting to load then crashing with the GUI disappearing before it's all loaded? Permissions Reset, Batchmod and codesigning with plenty of restarting the computer didn't work. M1 Mac mini + Big Sur

Frustrating because though it was complicated (complicated enough process that what ended up doing the trick is unknown), it did eventually install and work ok on another computer about 2 weeks ago. That was an Intel iMac i3 running Big Sur.

Most stuff runs fine on the M1 so far though, and the disappearing app seems to be a common issue so I'm not sure it's an M1 incompatibility thing.

Anyone know how to get the app to load?

After lots of trial and error I managed to install Reference 4 Measure and Reference 4 Systemwide on M1 Mac. However, only Reference 4 Measure is running correctly. The Systemwide portion does not run, since it is essentially a kext, or driver, which is 86/64 compatible but not ARM/M1 compatible.

There is a problem with the certificates, which you can either tick the box to be Trusted, or just ignore using the following steps.

These is what I have done:

1. Open "Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio Edition 4.4.0.156.pkg" with "Suspicious Package", a free OSX application. Once you open the pkg with Suspicious Package, you will see where the pkg would have put every file contained inside it, and the scripts it would have run (pre or post-installation, etc.). Now you have opened the pkg installer with Suspicious Package, you can copy the files contained within to their destination.

2. Copy and overwrite the patched Applications and Plugins to their respective folders on your mac (ie. /System/Applications, and /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.).

3. At this point, Reference 4 Measure.app and Reference 4 Systemwide.app won't open. Download BatChmod, a free OSX application, and open each *.app and reset the permissions for each: basically tick a. every box under Owner/Group/Everyone, b. Change ownership, c. Unlock and d.Clear ACLS. Also tick the box to e. Apply to enclosed and click APPLY.

4. Reference 4 Measure.app will run. Reference 4 Systemwide.app will run for a split second, then crash.

5. Back in step 1, when we used the app Suspicious Package to open, read the contents and copy the files from "Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio Edition 4.4.0.156.pkg" we of course did not copy the driver portion of the Sonarworks Reference 4 Systemwide. Systemwide is essentially a driver which reroutes audio though it, appearing as a device in the Audio MIDI Setup panel in OSX.

I attempted to install this by running the scripts in "Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio Edition 4.4.0.156.pkg" by using BBEdit, another free OSX app.

Eventually I hit a wall:

Error occurred unloading extensions: Missing extension with identifier com.Sonarworks.driver.Sonarworks : Incompatible architecture: Binary is for x86_64, but needed arch arm64e.

As I suspected, it seems that the kext, or driver, is written for x86_64 and is not compatible with M1, which is arm64e. As long as you are not running M1, this will work for you. It does not make a difference whether you Disable any Security in M1 - the driver for this release is not written for the M1 architecture.

heya installed .. but have a problem does anyone know if i can add headphones that are not on the list ? i have a pair of Beyer dynamic dt990s but the the 32 ohm edition which isn't listed i think because they were recently released they have profiles on the newer sound id reference just wondering if i can add to this ?
