Bitwig Studio v4.3 [WiN macOS LiNUX]-FLARE screenshot
Team FLARE | 29 June 2022 | WiN: 288 MB | macOS: 378 MB | LiNUX: 277 MB
RELEASE NUMBER: FLARE-1837/FLARE-1838/FLARE-1839

Bitwig Studio 1 was hello, world! Version 2 brought program-wide modulators and CV integration. Version 3 saw the birth of The Grid, our modular sound-design environment. And for version 4, new musical timelines have arrived.

This means comping for audio clips, both in the Clip Launcher and the Arranger. A new set of Operators, for changing the chance, recurrence, and more of any note or audio event. Random Spread for any expression point (like per-note pitch, or audio panning) with perfect control. And Native Apple Silicon support on Mac, even allowing Intel and ARM plug-ins to work side-by-side.

Welcome to Bitwig Studio 4.

What's new in 4.3

Your Sound is Going Spaces
Our new device, Convolution, can take any sound anywhere — even places that don't exist. All convolutions imprint your sound with an “impulse,” and ours comes ready-made with 270 of them, ranging from 12th-century cathedrals and legendary studio effects to more abstract “environments.” Using the impulse of a room or hall creates a realistic reverb, but Bitwig's Convolution and content offers so much more.

Fashionably Late
Delay+ is Bitwig's latest boutique audio effect. By balancing familiar controls along with a few thoughtful new ones, Delay+ can either add a little character or fully transform your sound as it ping-pongs along.

The New Face of Polymer
Polymer and The Grid use the same modules, so when something new comes along, everybody wins. For Bitwig 4.3, some analog-inspired goodies have arrived.

Two modules are new. Union is an oscillator that plays it straight, blending three waveshapes into one pleasant, drifting output. And for filtering, Low-pass MG honors Mister Moog by imitating both his classic filter and mix buss.

Topping Off
As always, a few more new features came along for the ride. For example, FX tracks now have sends of their own. And yes, direct feedback routings are available — and clearly labeled (Achtung!). And the ADSR module gets a lot of use, so why not add a “bias” out port for a bipolar signal that centers around sustain? Good for pitch or anything that might want a little drift.

Whether it is recording settings, lyrics, or performance notes, comments can be freely added to tracks, layers, Arranger cue markers, and Launcher scenes — just start writing in your language. And by distributing our Linux build over Flatpak and supporting PipeWire, many distros will have a smoother experience with Bitwig, including Ubuntu users. And maybe even Steam Decks?…

Bitwig Studio 4.3 supports the CLAP plug-in standard.

Thanks for your instructive comment. What happened to me is that I installed it over a previous version and things messed up so I had to uninstall everything but it works fine now

It's smartest thing to always uninstall previous version, I'm running legit version and I do that every time new point version comes out, don't really need old version and really would want to avoid any problems. Also run it as admin, never had any issues with it.

Gosh, some people really are boneheads. When you say 'X doesn't work', what you really mean is 'X doesn't work for me.'. Part of the beauty of using warez applications is that they don't come with support. If you want support, you probably need to spring for the full version and contact the manufacturer.

It's working flawlessly for me on Windows 7, driving a MOTU M2. Note effects -- the very reason I wanted this release -- also work beautifully. And why wouldn't it? It's really a factory release with some tampering with the registration files. If you're having problems with your installation and you don't have the skills to troubleshoot things yourself -- or at least to document where it's failing, what you've attempted to do to try and fix it and posted any logs or error files that show where it crashes, you've really got no business downloading audio warez and you need to be paying the company for support.

Links to ten year old discussion threads that show people having problems with spurious audio drivers doesn't help. That stuff really just tells people how far out of your depth you actually are. I don't mean to be unsympathetic -- I've been there myself in the past -- but ultimately, sticking with FL Studio is a smart move until you've upgraded your skills.

I am getting time bomb/morse code sounds when the project is played. Please fix.

Okay, I found out my timebomb problem only happen when opening old projects made with legit version of bitwig (I tried splice rent to own for a month in the past).

Just in case anyone need it, here's a workaround to open projects made with legit bitwig into cracked bitwig.

- Create new project and keep it open, make sure the audio engine is Activated in this project.
- Open the project made with legit version, It should now open in new tab.
- Keep the Audio engine in the legit project tab Deactivated.
- Copy-paste every track from your legit project to the new project.
- Once everything is copied, Close the legit project tab.
- Save the new project.
- Done.

It works for me. Hopefully for you too.
Thanks again, FLARE!

doesn't work for me: audio engine always stops when play this demo project. In addition - the project sounds strange. With original bitwig.jar - have no problem. Windows 11.
Comparing patched bitwig.jar vs original.

Mac users, I need your advice:

I've got installed the 3.3.1 version. What is best now? Should I uninstall this version, and install the 4.3 from scratch? And then, I think I must install again the packages and all the vsts, right?

And finally: Is it needed to block the internet connection to Bitwig? How?

Thank you!

NO!!!! do not uninstall 3.3.1 Install this one, same directory, same place, you will see later 3.3.1 & the 4.3...each will have their own ' extension ' icon to run the app. Just make sure turn off internet during the installation and block 'in/out' from your antivirus /firewall, if you have one. FINALLY RUN IT USING THE v. 4.3 icon, it works great under Monterrey...

I use Lulu to block everything . I overwrite the old instalation . And I use 2 strings to make Bitwig works...

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Bitwig\ Studio.app

sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/Bitwig\ Studio.app

* MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL! >> DISABLE INTERNET BEFORE AND DURING INSTALLATION! <<

I recommend this to those who are having or have had the 'time-bomb' problem.

1) install BW and block from the antivirus/firewall the access to the web.
2) when you open BW for the first time open the old project you were working on and let it load completely, then without playing it, click on 'Save as' and add v4.3 at the end of the project title.
3) Do this step N2 with all the projects that you consider more important, remember when you open them don't play them!!!, then 'save as' and add v4.3 at the end of the project title and bye-bye to the time-bomb sounds!!! =)

Greetings!

You might be doing something wrong, it works wonderfully well for me under Windows 11 64-bit at least, I have no idea what platform you have.

Don't give up!!!! Uninstall it completely and delete BW from the registry, then RESTART and re-install following my steps.

I've got the same issue here with the timebomb. All new projects, not reopening anything from a previous version of Bitwig. Suddenly, annoying music out of nowhere that isn't mine :)

What makes Bitwig special? As far as I know it was made by some former Ableton guys?
  Resident 11.04.2012 148

They did new spin on old proven idea, same as Studio One guys, which resulted in quite amazing DAW, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but who cares, there's so many choices, use whatever makes most sense to you.
