MERRY XMAS from bikini witches!

These plugins had very long time in the R2R-internal-vault. We've waited long time for the new Sonic Charge plugins. The time has finally come!

@Crackers, have fun checking how we safely made the plugins regged :)

Releases by other people in 2023, does not pass integrity checks (self checksum validation), or does not break trial limitation (3 weeks patch limit), or not compatible with other plugins registration (even with legit registration).

<span class='QuoteBy'>quote by FredTriple</span>Skins/Scripts works too using this instructions, but directories "Microtonic Scripts" and "Microtonic Skins" should be in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Charge" in my case

Good spot. Works for me. Thank you Fred.

This is also the location to install "RandomButton-kit"

Where is "RandomButton-kit"???

Guys, registered just to say this: Idk why everyone keeps saying one should put Microtonic Scripts and Microtonic Skins folders to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Charge, because the puzzle icon became active only when I put them in C:\Program Files\Sonic Charge.

It may depend if you install it as VST3 or VST2 ?
  Member 27.01.2024 17

Maybe, I installed VST3. Just nobody mentioned that and many seem to be frustrated, so hope it helps.

I also only installed VST3, but mine are located in: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Charge\

What did you clean exactly? Really need this for a current project.
Already tried cleaning registry, but unfortunately it did not work for me.

Same here. Any suggestions how to get this working again? Cleaned with Revo but no different, same message.

Yikes, thought we finally had 'em beat, but got the 'you should consider registering your copy' voice and pop-up today. Hadn't used it in a bit, so hard to say when it would have actually started. Sh*t, was convinced R2R had them beat this time.

Have everything pretty locked down on my end, has to be a time bomb they missed.

A partial solution to the timebomb:

1) Add the following to the hosts file:

0.0.0.0 soniccharge.com
0.0.0.0 nuedge.net
0.0.0.0 elysian.se

2) Open Notepad++ and paste the following code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NuEdge Development]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NuEdge Development\SonicCharge]
"ssc2salt"=hex:
"data"=hex:
"scregistry"=hex:
"uuidcache"=""

Save with a .reg extension and launch the file to apply the changes to your registry.

3) Profit.

It will show a trial window every time you launch it and you'll have to apply your custom skin again.

It seems you will need to apply this .reg file from time to time. I'm still testing the method, but no timebomb so far.

UPD: You can also create a .bat file to run the .reg file silently and create a scheduled task to run this bat every 20 days, for instance. The bat file should contain the following line:

regedit.exe /s "Path_To_Your_Reg_File"

thanks for the suggestions levi ! I did already have those entries in my hosts file since before installing this. I also firewalled the .exe before the install, and I use Studio One which I also have firewalled for no access outside of my lan. Between those efforts I should have been pretty well covered. It leads me to think this is simply a time bomb issue that R2R didn't locate when they worked on it. If I remember correctly they mentioned in their nfo the possibility this could come up somewhere down the line. I'm starting to think the trigger for it happens when you install other apps that scan your vst's, and when one of those apps accesses microtonic something gets set off that you have no control over -- but that's just a guess on my part.

I believe I've also seen those reg entries posted on the Ru site -- the comments about that method seemed to be mixed; some had success with it others did not. But I appreciate you posting it and I may give it a try. Bottom line though, I've seen a lot of groups try working on this and no one seems to be able to crack the code. Unless R2R feels like taking another look at it I'm kinda ready to call it a day on this one. It seems the developer is the winner of this battle.

You're welcome.

Yeah, those are gathered from the tracker, the discussion there was a mess, but what I gathered and combined seems to work so far.

I think the timebomb has a simple timer, as many of us started getting it at approximately the same time, which is ~2 months.

It's sad I have to pirate Microtonic, it's one of the few plugins I'd buy, but oh well, when I make money with music, I sure will do it :)

I also had the timebomb but I get the possibility to register again with the R2R data. After that I can work with the plugin again. When I restart my DAW and load it again, it act normal, no timebomb or demo or registerwindow

I don't think any of those steps are really necessary. I opened the plugin on a second PC and it lost the registration too there. But I don't think it is a timebomb because you can register again immediatly.

I opened the plugin on both pc's yesterday after not using it for quiet a while yet. They both were "unregistered" and both had a previous microtonic version installed in past. But on my new pc I played around with microtonic for at lest 45 minutes after registering again and had no problems. i have to admit that I did the register bat thing first that was suggested somewhere in this thread.

Today I started the plugin again on my new pc and no problems at all. Tomorrow I will try the other PC again, there I only did the new registering and not the batfile. will report back

Sounds good, but keep in mind... most of the people that are experiencing this recently had the software running just fine for a few months before this latest TB hit. It seems the developer buried some TB's in this that take awhile before you'll see it. If you're spending a lot of time putting together a track with Microtonic I'd record the Microtonic parts rather than just leave them in midi files just in case you suddenly lose use of the software.

Ok so today and yesterday it was running for hours on my studio PC, still going great and no timebombs or unregistering.

Now I had time to start it on the old pc again, and as you guys said, it asked for registration again immediatly after launching. so the only thing I did different on my studio pc was this reg recommendation from above:

Open Notepad++ and paste the following code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NuEdge Development]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NuEdge Development\SonicCharge]
"ssc2salt"=hex:
"data"=hex:
"scregistry"=hex:
"uuidcache"=""

Save with a .reg extension and launch the file to apply the changes to your registry.

Did it on the old PC too and same result. The guy above who made the script said he had the demoscreen everytime he starts the plugin, I have not seen the demoscreen once.

Just tried the above, (reg file) and hasn't worked for me but I'm one of those who've been using it for 3 moths without a problem. Seems it's a slow bomb. Not sure if R2R are aware this has happened, sure they'd want to crack this nugget. Not sure if we can repost as a request?
