I have maybe a stupid question: If I do clean install of this, as the txt files says, will I lost all my cosmos analyzed samples? I mean... 200k+ samples were analyzing for almost 2 days already, It'd be a shame to lost all that work...

EDIT: Or maybe I can just install this over Waves.Complete.v2023.01.17.Incl.Emulator-R2R? That'd be great.

Thank you R2R. The following is related entirely to Waves. Not R2R.

This new version hangs constantly when DAW is scanning at launch.
Sometimes the WavesLocalServer & WavesPluginScanner closes when DAW closes. Sometimes not.

The NX plugins get stuck while being scanned by DAW (Reaper, Pro Tools, Studio One).

Waves released yet another batch under baked product.

Only have them installed to help my son if he gets stuck on something. Nuking this & going back to previous version.

I just checked on my side and you are right. WavesLocalServer & WavesPluginScanner act just like you described and this is another Waves bug.

As for the NX plugins - I got them scanned and working fine so far in Reaper, Cubase 12 and Studio One 6.
Did you check if you have latest Visual C++ and Web2View installed? Maybe that's the problem?

independent developers look better and batter, every day, in comparison to these great reset corporations, and there are some really good ones out there. support those.

I followed instructions, i.e. uninstalled and cleaned previous install.
Does anyone know why the VST's appear but wont load, on Ableton it says "The VST2 plugin could not be found"?

Fuck... with the new waves central update, it doesn't let me install the old versions (v13) I have the R2R Version of. This was a solution to not install everything because I only use like 6-7 older waves plugins....

Please, R2R or anybody can make a version where you can actually select what to install? There is so much bloat here, but also a few very good plugins between them.

I don't think, but you can do that afetr install..:

Save the entire Waves folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves) in winrar archive.

Then, delete everything you don't need in the original folder :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves

Delete "C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\COSMOS" & "C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\ReWire" folders if you don't use them.

In : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Applications V14"
& "C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Plug-Ins V14"
Only keep what you use (the wavelibs & the Documents folder too), the rest is deleted

And in : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\Data"
Delete everything that is related to the tools you don't use and
if you don't know what it is, keep it !

After that, if you want to test or reinstall somme plugins you have just to use
the "Waves.rar" to reinstall the missing files in their correct folder.

It works very well except for some plugins that depend on each other like
TG Mastering console depend on others AbbeyRoad plugs...

It's up to you to try, you can't go wrong because you have the "Waves.rar" !

Thanks for the Tip! The Problem however is that Waves still stores all the Plugins in the Waveshell DLL and I would need a solution to get them out of there because Bitwig still "sees" all plugins registered in the Waveshell.

Oh, don't know that for bitwig... even after a new scan of the plugins ?

I don't have a solution for that, it's a real problem. Maybe by editing the shell, but it must be impossible and corrupt the dll, i'm not tested that. And if it works, do that after each update ???? pfff

It is possible, thanks to old "Shell to VST", to know exactly which plugin is in a given Waveshell. Once they are know, delete the ones that are not useful... tedious!

(EDIT) : Ok there are just one waveshell now.... Using Vst2 and converting with the "Shell2VSt" program and select the plugins you want; And not use VST3.

Thats what I thought but know when I am trying to reinstall from the rar it gives me an error code saying "checksum error"... Has that happen to y'all to? how do we fix pls

Apparently, Waves is resorting back to their perpetual licenses as soon as they can. They'll be keeping the subscription service as an option though.

Anyone having issues with studiorack?It crashes studio one 6.1 everytime it worked fine before this release and i used revo to un install old waves any ideas?

Hi, I'm just using this studiorack version with studio one 6.02 and it work fine.
But yesterday I found a bug in studio one 6.1 (impossible to use a mono bus as input for tracks), reverted to 6.02 and works... I think the 6.1 on the AZ site is buggy...

I con't confirm for studiorack, but for meit's work with 6.02.. try it !
