After long time, i understood one thing, best procedure is one installer regged, as a lot mac boys did recently

the way i see it, vr are way prompter, and cover a lot more releases, but usually don't mess with the apps - so that's what allows them to provide so many releases, so quickly - and that's a great thing.

r2r re-engineer a lot of releases, remove/deactivate protection modules, make the plugins skip checks, etc. that makes some apps work faster, and take a lot less space. I prefer r2r releases myself, and appreciate the dedication and mastery, but the flip side is their releases are more rare, and cover a smaller range - more work to be done for each. range and frequency is where vr shine.

so, it's different approaches, and i see the logic and utility in both.

like you said, we're just privileged to have these teams of musicians' robin hoods who allow us access to stuff we couldn't access otherwise, many times, and certainly not as fast. most of the time, allow us to compare, understand, decide how to spend our money, on what we can afford, and use stuff we couldn't afford, or did not even know existed.

huge thanks to them, and to the other teams - flare, mocha, cubeadooby, p2p, tcd, fuck, ret, audiowarez, utopia - I'm gonna forget many of them, but they're all really appreciated.

i wouldn't be where i am in my music making progress if it weren't for them, but probably orders of magnitude lower.

and let's not forget the free plugin developers who work for the same goal, like analog obsession, variety of sound, airwindows, pseudo stereo, to name just of few. great stuff from them, too, on par with the big names, many times better.

No if you put some effort and make logical solutions for yourself.
TEAM R2R will not serve us always with easy solution. That is the best one and they told why is that.
As yourself you ahould know about program repacking, nowadays those bundles have a over 100k files so you need to make script for each plugin and that is time consuming.

I think older versions are decent still. I have a R2R release from 2018 installed, has all the waves stuff i could need without their not cool newer plugins.
