I look at it this way. If you love yourself the sound of a very 80s Oberheim OB-Xa, and can't afford the real thing + the constant maintenance then this is as close as you can currently get without spending thousands on hardware like, say a Sequential OB-6 for example, to get somewhere in the ball park. If you don't care for that sound then this synth is just another VSTi you probably don't need. This thing is not breaking any new ground in synthesis. While it has some extras the hardware doesn't it's very much taking you back in time. Personally, the Oberheim OB-Xa is probably my favorite sounding synth of all time. I'll wait for a hardware clone though.

It's YARGS. Yet Another Really Good Synth. Just like dozens and dozens and dozens of other really good synths. There's nothing really special about it. There's nothing totally unique. It's really good. Just like dozens of others.

Bought this when it came out because of the Terminator OST sound Brad Fiedel used an OB-Xa for it which Obsession emulates. But I could have invented any other random reason though.

What makes this synth stand out - apart from it's authentic emulation - is that you can control every voice in extreme detail (if you want to). So you can create chords or unison sounds that no other synth can.

I am naturally inclined to making synthwave-alike music and this synth is excellent for that purpose. Mix it with the fabulous Softube Model 84 and U-He's excellent Repro-5 and you're in for some serious nostalgia

Opened this up a few months after installation and I get a box telling me it has not been installed properly. Run the installer again (Error Code #1).
When I click OK, the app opens and a Launch Activation box appears, which is impossible to open as the above installer box appears every time you try to launch the activation.
I am using a Mac 10.14.6 and 11.7.1
