Why develop yet one more parametric equalizer (PEQ) when there’s already hundreds on the market? The answer is simple…’Cuz there was room for improvement! It was customers of the original LinearPhase PEQ Red and Orange who asked Algorithmix to develop a classic EQ, for recording and mixing tasks, with unparalleled purity and transparency. Over several years, our Dr. Christoph closely analyzed many of the best out there, and compiled a vast knowledgebase of analog EQ best practices. Cherry picking from that, he implemented not just one or two, but an entire collection of trad minimal phase EQs. The result? A distillation of analog antecedents, while others are based on new ideas.
We know you’ll enjoy our dozen variations of blue, newly revised by MAAT, and will find your favorite sound. We’ve also added subtle but important touches, like the ability to freely assign Sections to either stereo [left/right] or sum/difference [L+R/L-R] at the same time, and to “group” all Sections and make a global gain change without disturbing the relationship of individual Sections.

The Twelve
We wanted to lift analog to another level, so we reverse engineered a variety of well respected hardware EQs, creating idealized digital versions from that inspiration. Rather than models or simulations that carry analog baggage, thEQblue has no noise, distortion or other secondary effects inherited from analog.

Don't know really if there is something special magical in FiDef technology, I don't believe... But people even believe that sound quality depends on GUI.... More analog gear looking, closer to hardware.... Cheaper plugin, cheaper sound.... So, you all know... People are people.... Are you FiDefist?)

So I tried the FiDef button but holy shit it just adds loads of noise, at least on the drum loop I tried it on.
Plugindoctor confirms this. I really do not like the amount of noise it's adding on top of opening very slow on my system

* 3 SILENT wave files = no noise at all. Which should " restore " the pure sound of the EQ ( if I've slept enough ... ).

It's not pink but Brownian noise.
Its profiles are defined in *.cfg files. Their contents looking like this:

I'm sorry to have to contradict you, but what we see is very close to the definition of pink noise : the slope - which does not null at the top end -, and so the spectrogram, and the " sound " .

Brownian noise has a higher slope ( the double ) and nulls at the top end, with a darker blue spectrogram. This leads to a clearly duller sound.

Here is an screen for the comparison of both.

Not so close. It is definitely Brownian noise.
Open it in Audacity (Analyze/Plot Spectrum) and you'll see clearly.

BIS : I already did in the comparison in Samplitude, as shown above : the closest curve is the pink noise. It's almost identical. NOTHING in the Brownian noise corresponds : neither the slope, so neither " earlier " zeroing at HF, and so neither the spectrogram ( aka the color of it ).

As for pink noise, the descent is around - 3 dB/octave.
Brownian noise is - 6 dB/octave, which does not fit at all.

Simply by ears one hears to which the ( identical ) template(s) correspond(s), as also commented earlier.

Firstly, this analysis does not go up to 20kHz (or even higher).
Secondly, you must not look at the angle of the slope, but the decrease of dB /octave. If you do this, you'll find it's more close to Pink than to Brown noise.

Here's what textbooks say.

comparison is easy.

Again, open it in Audacity (Analyze/Plot Spectrum, or Voxengo SPAN plus/Static/Load) and you'll see it clearly. You need static, sum overall frequency response for this task.

DAW is right, its pink, you should have heard it its a big difference (you did play it right not just generate graphs?) brown noise is muted af..
you throw up "textbook material" which proves it is pink not brown(ian if you want to sound smart)
and at the same time tell us to analyze again....

hopefully you are not in charge of my final masters! jk :)

this plugin is way overpriced, the devs talk like douchebags high on their own nerdy bad breath, their marketing must have been done by a blind, deaf & dumb scamartist child. But i think FiDef is useful in a small set of cases
