XLN Audio Addictive Keys v1.0.6 R16

It's a decent library with a bit of everything. Convenient especially for playing live. Of course if you compare it to the best grand pianos (Ivory II, Vienna Imperial etc.), the best electric pianos (Scarbee Mk.I, Lounge Lizard etc.) the best CP70/80's etc., they will all be better than what comes with AK.

The Rhodes is definitely the Achilles' heel of this library, because it's too punchy and aggressive and there's no way to make it more mellow. Needless to say, the EP libraries I mentioned before have the full expressive range, from real mellow to real aggressive.

Now that's hard question!
I'll try to keep it short!
Pros:
1.You got many mics recording, many filters, many effects and you can mix them shaping your own sound in endless possibilities (if you can't find something good it is just your fault! );
2.You got already hundreds of premade presets from which you can start exploration;
3.For electro-acustic pianos (Rhodes and CP80) you got a selection of DI and amped lines;
4.Smooth transition between all dynamics.
5.It loads faster than anything I've tried so far;
Cons:
1.While the recording is very good sometimes the sound can result a little bit sharper and punchier than needed (trademark of Sampletekk recording studio maybe ) and you must even it out using your best qualities in mixing;
2.It lacks any kind of progressive pedalling (half pedal) and una corda/soft pedal samples (just a bad modeling of this one) in the grand piano and in the upright;
3.No sympathetic resonance and overtones (interaction between strings when the pedal is pressed or when multiple keys are pressed);
4.You can hear some clear stretched samples and few layers for the dynamic range.

In general, it is a very good midrange product for people (mainly producers and pop musicians) who just need some keys in their song and are not too much picky about their sound.

Quite the opposite, it's win only...
