FXpansion BFD3 v3.0.28 UNLOCKED FIXED-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 2014.01.09 | 40.8 MB
BFD3 is the third generation of FXpansion's flagship software acoustic drum studio: new levels of realism and ground-breaking features in an intuitive redesigned engine. With stunning new kits with mix-ready presets and modelling technology for tom resonance and cymbal swells, BFD3's audio engine delivers uncompromising detail. The revamped interface has a new mixer and sound browser for the easiest BFD experience yet.

BFD3's all-new library is recorded in two fantastic rooms by engineers including Andrew Scheps, Rail Jon Rogut and John Emrich, giving you a diverse palette of drum tones out of the box. The sounds include a brushed kit and processed drum presets for fast custom kit-building. BFD3 also contains a powerful built-in environment for pattern creation and editing, complete with a range of performances by legendary drummers for effortless production of drum tracks indistinguishable from the real thing.

UNLOCKED NOTE :
You don't need any activations for BFD expansions. You should read the manual to know how to scan and use them.

NOTE ABOUT AAX :

BFD3 AAX is just a VST wrapper so that we didn't need to patch it. We haven't tested under PT11 and we have no idea whether it works or not.

FIXED NOTE :
We have fixed 10 more custom bombs which cause crashing to the DAW. Well, it is not actually crashing, but stucking. Moreover, bombs are triggered by different action per DAW. It crashes when loading presets, when load the kit, when connect to certain output etc. We have patched all of those stucking bombs now. We hope we did it right with this release.

lorebucs,
I have the same problems here...but in Studio One 2.6. Sometimes the groove can't play until I unload BFD and reload it...

lorebucs,Yeah I was trying to comment but I guess nobody bothered to read it. I too have Cubase 7.5 and it did crash about five or six times but I kept on trying .I fixed it by not giving up and playing around ...here's what I found... Same computer different drves with separate systems behaved totally different it actually used more resources on my SSD .the sample rate in your (1)dow has to match the sample rate in your (2)software of soundcard and match the sample rate in (3)windows, and in (4)bfd3 itself both record and play ...they all have to match or you will have strange things happening and crashes the Cubase etc...I had to restart the computer and trying it again after all those crashes it works fine and does not crash anymore. Also when you find out that sometimes it does not load right what happens is that the audio sample rate somehow got mismatched again. I am running it now with buffer of five mls...and like I said before it was crashing often but I tamed it so you try it too and see. yes

Thank you all guys, especially smitty and uitarplayer2007.
I want to tell you that I did a lot of testing ... it seems to 48kHz, the system is more stable, I do not know the original sampling frequency of the "core library", but I know that the old libraries were at 44.1kHz. Reducing the Stream Buffer and the Buffer RAM to 4096 it works but I can hear latency when loading samples. At 8192 is probably the best situation. Reducing the buffer can be opened multiple outputs without crashing. I think the engine BFD3 is very heavy, even if the use of my CPU and RAM is never higher than 20%.

I use Windows 8 with 64bit Lynx Studio Technology AES16e DRIVERS ... and now at 48kHz/32bit float ... what are your configurations? mates

Now, I've found another problem: clear kit button doesn't work in standalone version and and sometimes in Reaper (at least for me)...

well it's way better than the previous release but i still experience a lot of crashes no matter which stream buffer/sample rate i use. (Win7x64 on [email protected] 16GB RAM with Reaper x64) Thanks a lot for the release :)

Same problem as those above. Cubase 5. Works fine and of normal load when loaded in a project, but if I save it and reload the project, the buffer is maxed out and doesn't play any samples, just clicks. So essentially it works, you just can't save the project. Still kinda unusable.

Still not working and no fix, so this "fixed" version is still unusable.
Works fine in Cubase, no latency or heavy load, but if you save the project and reload it, it maxes out the buffer no matter what settings. So still pretty much the same problem as the first release. You can fiddle around with it, but can't use it in a project.

That's a shame. FXPansion must have beefed up the security in this latest release and this is likely another timebomb going off. I'm sure R2R are working on it and maybe we'll have a new version out soon. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm having the same "glitchy/spiky click sound" problem mentioned on the previous comments. Someone also created a topic about it at the official FXpansion forum about the same issue, but to no avail.

Anyone that managed to fix it so far? I tried changing a whole lot of engine settings, my DAW and audio interface settings are working very well with anything else, but the issue remains whenever I use the "activate all outputs" option and route the BFD3 mixer to individual channels in Cubase Artist 7.5, so I basically can't use it properly in a project. I DEFINITELY need to be able to route them in order to be able to mix.

Please notify me if anyone comes up with a nice solution, cheers.

Oh that's a shame i was hoping that the earlier reports were wrong and it actually worked well at least on a decent rig. I was actually thinking of picking this one up. FXPansion is another annoying company with their protections.

I'm still facing the same issue: on Cubase 7.5.20, when enabling multi output, it crashes. I thought I was solved turned stream and RAM to 16k. I worked for an hour, and Cubase crashed when saving the project ...

Hi. First post in this forum. I have a very cheap laptop (Win 7, 4gb RAM) but have been able to run it in standalone (32 & 64 bit) more or less smoothly by decreasing Stream and RAM buffer to 8,192 and checking "Load on demand".
Unfortunately, when running it in Cubase 5 it crashes (most of the time) after save load operation.
As a workaround someone in other forum proposed to use "Load Preset from file...". The only problem is you have to remember to unload BFD3 before saving your project. Hope it helps.

I believe that R2R didn't get all the timebombs in this release. It's no wonder when FXPansion is such a pain in the ass with that stuff. Perhaps they can visit it again one day in the future and finish the job.

Hi there,
I would like to know if anybody has experienced the following problem:
Ableton 64 bit doesn't show the 64bit BFD3.dll (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2)

However Ableton 32 bit shows 32bit BDF3.dll (C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins)
and is working fine.
Any Suggestions ?
Thnx
