Here is our first open beta test of our new installer!

We coded new installer system. It is now based on the latest Inno Setup 6. It
is written from the scratch, based on our experience creating thousands of
installers.

Is something changed from the last installer? Not so much for you. Yes for us.
We revised our installer to save our time, reduce human mistakes (we are
human), and avoid depending on EOL software to support the latest OS.

Unfortunately, due to the requirement of Inno Setup 6, we can't support
Windows XP in our latest installer. But don't worry, we can still compile the
installer with previous scripts when needed.

We are using original Inno Setup 6. No shady modification or encryption like
some others ;) You can unpack by generic unpackers if inno's version is
supported. Can't find? Here is one of them.

http://github.com/jrathlev/InnoUnpacker-Windows-GUI/tree/master/innounp-2/bin

We have plan to make our scripts and beloved R2RINNO plugin (but not our whole
system, of course!) available to the public after the beta stage. We think it
should be very useful for other crackers. Please post the comment to your
favorite forum if our new cute installer works as expected - or not!

- [ MORE SECRET OF INSTALLERS ] -

To provide the best compatibility with the good compression, our installer
does not use data compression at all. Instead of using Inno's compression,
we compress the installer by 7Zip or WinRAR. When 7Zip (lzma1/2) can achieve
much better compression than RAR5, we use it before the master compression.
That's why you can still see 7z even after we went to RAR5 in our releases.

Why R2R don't simply use the highest compression of LZMA / Inno Setup?

The tightest compression in Inno Setup performs very nice but have the
compatibility issue on some setup. It's related to the memory allocation in
the 32bit process area. There were some rumor in the developers: "do not use
max compression in Inno". To make sure, we publicly tested the high ratio
compression years ago. Even if we tested on the many computer, we still got
some feedbacks about memory issue. Since we confirmed the rumor, we completely
dropped the Inno compression. We had no memory issue report after that :)

[There are no 100% safe value for compression ratio in Inno. Because it's
32bit process. Some apps like anti-virus or monitoring software easily take
the memory from Inno process. If you want to perform high compression, all you
can do is "decrease the ratio when you have the problem". Or just give up and
use the default compression, which is worldwidely confirmed working well even
in the old poor machine.]

[Today, that heavy compression is used by VR and TCD. If you check warez
forums, you can find the posts about "out of memory" issue with their
installer from time to time. The reason is simple : The compression.]

- [ IS R2R BACK 100%? ] -

While the installer is one of the most important part, the answer is NOT YET.
The new standard is under development. Meanwhile, please help us testing the
new installer. Many plugins are waiting for the best installer ;)

So great to see R2R dropping in on us!!! Thank you for letting us try out some of your new work

The new executable worked smooth as silk on my Win 10 machine, using Studio One v 7.00. No hiccups, just a quick, easy install. Installed VST 3 only and ran it for about 15 minutes during which everything seemed to be working perfectly. Will update if necessary.

Thank you again R2R!

Just checked the installer, all actual formats are there, just wondering that there is still RTAS. Compression facts are great, unpacked setup is even better for faster installation.

This Does not work Properly On Ableton 12 Win 11 for me.
The Slider in the middle for the reverb modes and the Front to back slider disappear after 2 seconds.

Have you installed the last 2015-2022 VCC runtimes? Would be also proper to install the 2008 runtime fixes (2008 VCC was broke by a buggy win update), just in case.

While the install works perfectly, I would prefer to comment on the quality of the reverb. I find it vastly inferior to many other reverbs available, from Valhalla to iZotope (= Exponential Audio and their new Equinox) to Liquidsonics to Audio Plugin Union 3D reverb to 2C Audio etc. etc. most if not all of which are available here. "smart" reverb doesn't sound natural or full or even timbrally interesting to my ears....not too smart, after all.

I think the idea that all the instances are connected is great. The positioning of the individual elements alone is worth the plugin. It's perfect for creating rooms, especially if you're not familiar with predelay, size, etc., the normal settings for a reverb. That's why this is actually the most useful reverb for me.

Well, It works... and to me that’s 90% there. The rest is just detail, the kind of polish and 'preciousness' that only engineers or really sharp ears might maaaybe notice.

quote by starpinoTndoesn't create a instance within the plugin, still hear reverbed sound but unable to see the instance so i can't move between different types or between the Front and Back, Pro tools detect instances but unable to group them even under the same group name.

Wasn't there (back in the days) an inno setup plugin for extracting external archives such as 7z, rar, ace?
Would love to see such a function in your R2RInno plugin or as a separate plugin. That way you could compress/decompress the contents safely and keep the installers small.

The installer itself wouldn't need compression at all, it just would unpack/load the content archive(s) into {tmp} and extract the contents from there while the installer does everything else required (reg, icons, writing configs,...).

In the end the installer would take a few seconds to load but users need that time anyways (and even more) to extract 1st rar and 2nd the 7z archive. Therefore a loading animation plugin would be very nice.

There is a very experienced Inno Setup coder around named "Altef_4" who coded a plugin called "Image Animator", that plays png frames. I used this in an older Toontrack release for an animation.
Another coder named "Razor12911" created a plugin with the name "Inno Setup Advanced Splash" which animates single png files with neat effects but that plugin sometimes doesn't unload correctly.

I btw. collected almost every inno setup plugin, even different versions per plugin) that got coded/released in the past 20 years or so, also some from very small forums and sites that don't exist anymore and I'd like to share them if interested.

Installer skins and ui customizations also would be neat, maybe using modern Embarcadero VCL styles so you can see clearly "it's an R2R installer" as soon as you run it.

Many thanks to R2R for the new installer which worked flawlessly.

The ISSUE is with this reverb plugin. Apparently it must require an internet connection to function because it doesn't create any instances for tracks running in the DAW and adds no groups when you create new ones.

- Testing on win10 22H2 // reaper 7.35 // no internet.
- Fire up Reaper while watching firewall - No connections attempted running reaper, adding tracks, etc...
- Fire up this plugin and immediately a crap ton of connections for reaper (i.e. this plugin) show up (mainly adobe wip but some to 266.0.0.1)
- plugin loads and displays GUI, etc, but doesn't function - probably due to lack of internet

unless a version of this thing appears that removes all need for internet connections, it gets dropped into the bit bucket never to return. The uninstall worked flawless as well.

That's odd, I block all outbound connections by default and this Sonible plugins requested 0 outbound connections here.
